Limited Sherry-inspired Malt Whisky from Jerez.

The Spanish town of Jerez is inseparably linked to Sherry, so it’s no surprise this curious Malt Whisky is heavily influenced by it. It’s created by a trio of flavor masters: Jesus Barquin co-wrote the Bible of Andalucía wines; Eduardo Ojeda is a Master Blender and a skillful hunter of barrels; Nicolas Palazzi, the founder of PM Spirits, on the other hand, knows exactly where to source rare Spirits from his homeland of France. They’re exploring new, unknown and exciting flavors, releasing insanely innovative expressions.

The Navazos-Palazzi “Bota Punta” Spanish Malt Whisky was distilled on copper pot still in Spain from Spanish Malt and spent a full decade in barrels that used to hold Oloroso Sherry. It came from the cask that lays on the bottom row of barrels (hence its name) where there’s more air and light in the solera. It’s a quite rare release (less than a thousand bottles), it’s unfiltered, undiluted and cask strength. Truly something else, really.

Ratings & Reviews
Antti
Antti,
It is a very good, intense, Single Malt Spanish Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a juicy life adds notes of butter, nuts, hints of cherry, dates, allspice, leather & clove; that lead to a long & rich death with more Sherry notes.

Jeff
Jeff,
Little nose. Harsh burn. Minimal flavor profile

Derek
Derek,
Unique flavor for sure...smell is nice almost butterscotch, however, tastes like a leather belt.

Andrew
Andrew,
Butter, complex flavors

Matthew
Matthew,
tastes like dead fish cannot find any redeeming qualities

Matthew
Matthew,
Color is a copper color. Nose starts with malt, a buttery note, an herb/earthy note, and very faint fruit. First sip is intense: sherry, herb/spiciness, slight nuttiness, and some fruit. Consistency is buttery, perfect for the fuller flavor profile. Later notes of butter in the palate only improve this illusion. Finish is strong, with extended sherry and spice notes. Overall, very impressive. The heavy sherry influence and higher proof really pay dividends.

Todd
Todd,
Butter on the nose. Spicy taste. I would have this again.

Stephen
Stephen,
Totally unique flavor, with a heavy butter/almost creamy texture and flavor. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this one is a must try if you want something different.

Liz
Liz,
Smells and tastes liked buttered pecans with a hint of baseball glove.

Paul
Paul,
tastes of a room with leather bound books on a mahogany shelf next to a big leather chair and a smoldering fire and maybe half a doobie in a marble ashtray

Marguerite
Marguerite,

Lovely buttery flavor. Smooth finish.

Matt
Matt,
Pretty good but definitely overpriced. You can get much better whiskys at this price point.

This is amazing

Victor
Victor,
Not what I was expecting. Sweet, reminds me of fruit cake.

Ryan
Ryan,
Wonderful. Butterscotch on the nose with a nutty Sherry flavor, a background of dried fruit, and a long smooth finish. Highly enjoyable if you like Sherry finished whiskies.

Angela
Angela,
Not for us. Strong sherry nose and flavor. Also other off flavors that makes this a dud

Brendan
Brendan,
Pretty run of the mill to me. The nose doesn't really have anything stand out. Same on the taste, with a little buttered pecan. The faintest of sherry beneath, but it is extremely subtle. A good tasting whisky overall, just nothing spectacular or unique.

Burton
Burton,
A favorite from the Advent Calender. Unique. Aromas of cocoa and dill, dates and molasses. Medium oily mouth feel. Slight alcohol punch. More dates and fruit on the taste. So glad I tried this.

Sean
Sean,
Butter too strong on the nose and a little harsh at this proof. Interesting, but not for me.

Matthew
Matthew,
Too strong for me. Really strong leather flavor. But not too bad

D
D,
Amazing. Incredible. Nose: Almond butter, Dates, Old clean Leather. Taste: Not a bite--more of a nibble. Strong sherry nose and flavor. Let it sit for a few minutes, and the sherry bomb explodes on the nose. Leather on the palate. Long dry finish.

Stefanie
Stefanie,
Distinctive. It reminds me of pecan pie with that sweet spiced buttery flavor. Not as smooth as some others I have tried. Smells very nutty like an almond or pecan cookie.
