A special-edition release of a distinct Gin.

The Thames Distillery was founded in 1996 by Charles Maxwell who was an 8th-generation Gin distiller. Today, the distillery produces around 60 Gins for different brands – everything from international brands to small-scale operations for bars. Distilled at the Thames Distillery and bottled in Spain, Mombasa Gin is one of those premium brands.

A special limited-edition release, Mombasa Colonel's Reserve carries the name of a 19th century private social club in Kenya that imported English Gin for its members. It’s based on a carefully selected blend of botanicals, including caraway, cumin, and coriander. It’s spicy at first but fresh vanilla, thyme, and hints of licorice soon make an appearance. If you’re looking for something special for your G&T, this is it.

How much Tonic is in a Gin & Tonic? The ideal proportions for a perfect Gin & Tonic is one part Gin and two parts Tonic.
Few Gin distillers make their own alcohol. Gin usually starts with neutral Spirit: A commodity that distillers buy in bulk. It’s what the distiller does with this commodity in the flavor-infusing process that makes each Gin different.
While juniper-heavy Gin is perfect for your daily G&T, it is also complemented extremely well by tea flavours such as Earl Grey. Try steeping Earl Grey tea bags in Gin for an hour before mixing it with lemon juice and soda for a refreshing tipple. This one gets you additional kudos, so let’s keep it between us.
As with many other Spirits, Gin was originally intended to be used as a medicine—to battle malaria.
The Thames Distillery houses two stainless steel stills, called Tom Thumb and Thumbelina, each with a 500-liter capacity.
Classifications of Gin: London Dry Gin, Plymouth Gin, Old Tom Gin, Genever or Dutch, New Western or new American or International style.
