Dive into the yummy waves of the first Mizunara-finished Rum, and cast a lifeline to the ocean while you're at it!

As an ancient legend has it, a powerful ocean princess-dragon ruled over all sea creatures with grace and wisdom. This princess lived in a snazzy palace made of shimmering corals, which were said to hold the secrets of life and purification. The folks at Minoki got wind of the sea princess's ancient wisdom and decided to school themselves in the ways of the ocean. And that's how Minoki Rum came to be! These fearless pioneers mixed the finest Japanese and Pacific Rums, aging it in Mizunara oak casks before filtering through Japanese corals washed ashore. And they're not just making kick-ass rum, they're also on a mission to save the coral reefs — promising to donate a slice of their riches and spread awareness. So, as long as Minoki Rum flows, the future of the ocean grows (brighter).

Okay. Let’s talk about Minoki Mizunara Cask Finished Rum — the first Mizunara finished Rum in the world. A blend of Japanese and Pacific Rums was aged to perfection in the prized oak casks and then filtered through rare Japanese corals for a silky smooth finish. Picture a tropical fruit party on the nose, all while enjoying a light-bodied Rum that's a little salty, a little woodsy, and oh-so refined. Finally, a gentle hug from the good ol’ spiced vanilla seals the deal for a sophisticated finish.

If the center of our galaxy had a signature scent, it would be Rum. Yup, astronomers studying a giant cloud in the Milky Way found a substance called ethyl formate, a chemical that smells suspiciously like Rum.
Next time you have a tipple of Rum you can say that you're tapping the Admiral. This intriguing phrase comes from the great Admiral Nelson who was killed in the battle of Trafalgar off of Spain. The story is that his body was preserved in Rum to be shipped back to England but, when the barrel arrived, some of the Rum was missing and said to have been siphoned off by some desperate or unknowing sailors. It's a great story but most likely false.
You might find Rum masquerading itself under other nom de plumes, like Ron, Rom and Rhum.
A little bit of etymology; nobody really knows where the word Rum comes from. The most popular suggestions are Rum (the Romani word for 'potent'), Rumbullion (an uproar), Saccharum (sugar in Latin), and Rummer (a Dutch drinking glass).
Rum used to be accepted as a form of currency in Europe and Australia, a practice we should probably bring back into fashion.
Mount Gay Rum is the oldest existing Rum company in the World dating back to 1705. This is also the year Guy Fawkes tried to blow up Britain’s Parliament.
