Whiskey from one of America’s oldest distilleries.

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky Michter’s is one of the oldest distilleries in the States. Their Master Distiller, Willie Pratt, has been in and around the whiskey industry for over forty years, he is lovingly referred to as Dr. No as he will never allow any casks to be released or bottled until they are just right.

Matured in Bourbon soaked, American white oak barrels, this unblended American Whiskey is a great homage to Michter’s long legacy. This expression has not appeared on shelves for three years and is making a great comeback. The flavor profile is fruity and sweet. It combines a distinct vanilla undertone with bursts of fresh fruit throughout. The sweetness of the wood really comes through, with this vanilla developing into caramel and red apples. For those who enjoy their Whiskey thick with saccharine fruitiness, this is the dram for you!

What does Michter's US*1 American Whiskey taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Michter's US*1 American Whiskey and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Ratings & Reviews
Aaron
Aaron,
Easily one of my favorites that can't be categorized into one of the more specific whiskey categories. I'm a big fan of the balanced sweetness. Definitely a "session" whiskey for me.

Alex
Alex,
When you inhale it in a tasting glass, you receive the rank sting of a normal whiskey, so you know not to mess with it. But then you taste it...and you're surprised. It comes across as smooth as juice. I will say I don't find a flavor in this that makes me think "Michter's", as you would with Woodford, Evan Williams, etc., but this is not a bad whiskey at all. Very good choice for beginners or for tastings.
