Madre Mezcal

Hand-made by mezcaleros that follow traditional Zapotec recipes in open-air palanques in the rural hills of Oaxaca, Madre is a true celebration of Mother Earth. Taking natural ingredients like local water, natural air-borne yeast, minerals from the earthen pit-oven to roast the agave, it’s like you can taste the earth it comes from in their bottles. And besides their classic Madre Mezcal offerings, you can also taste it in four different Madre Desert Water offerings. 

Inspired by the tradition of what they call ranch water in West Texas, Madre Desert Water is a mix of Mezcal and sparkling water that perfectly quenches thirst on hot summer days. These ready-to-drink canned cocktails are the perfect introduction to the world of Mezcal for the beginner but they’re not any less appealing to the connoisseurs, either, who can enjoy a new form of Mezcal. 

And did you know that Mezcal used to be considered a plant medicine? This is why besides blending Madre Espadin mezcal with sparkling water and real fruit, plants and herbs, Madre Desert Water includes traditionally healing ingredients like adaptogenic mushrooms, anti-inflammatory herbs, and anti-fungal cacti. The unique flavor profiles they bring to the table are a great bonus, too.

Madre Desert Grapefruit & Yerba Santa marries Texas with the Mexican desert. Grapefruit and Mezcal is traditionally a delicious pairing that results in a Paloma. Adding the Mexican herb Yerba Santa brings notes of pepper, anise, and eucalyptus to add a new twist to the familiar refreshing flavors. Yerba Santa actually means holy herb, which mostly comes from its amazing healing properties for basically anything.
