The Ferrari among Whiskies.

Many things are considered a luxury these days, but rare things are. Fads come and go, experiments get and lose our attention, and every week there's a new next best thing. But some things are exceptional no matter the fashion. One of those things is Macallan's Whisky, the shiny and elegant constant. No wonder James Bond likes it.

Macallan Edition No.4, an extremely limited Highland Single Malt from Speyside, is another bull's eye and it's a marvelous commitment to wood. The Edition No.4 was aged in a combination of seven different cask types - yes, goddamn seven: European and American oak refill butts and hogsheads, together with butts, puncheons and hogsheads specifically from Vasmya, Diego Martin, Jose y Miguel Martin, and Tevasa.

Master Distiller Nick Savage did a really savage thing here, in the best possible way. It's a well-balanced dram that shows the best of each cask type. It embodies the craftsmanship and clever design of the new fancy distillery. It's smooth, robust and luxurious and, quite frankly, you deserve it

What does The Macallan Edition No.4 taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in The Macallan Edition No.4 and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Dustin,
Hands down my favorite drink. The flavor is complex and has the perfect balance between flavor and bite.

Smooth as all get out. Great mouthfeel, sweet, but not too sweet.

Smooth. Refreshing. Everything you could want with a hint of something more.

Dat
Dat,
You would think that something with 48% ABV would singe your nose hair, right? Not this magic elixir. I believe this Edition No. 4 beats its older siblings (Editions 1, 2 and 3) hands down. I would love to give it a score higher than a 9, but alas, Uncle Flaviar doesn't allow fractional stars. Amazingly, the nose is very pleasant with definite hints of spice and honey. The mouth feel is thick and warm, almost makes you want to chew at the flavor. And the finish is long and quite luxurious. Definitely a keeper on the top shelf. They aren't making any more, so if you see a bottle available, and you can afford to skip 10 days of Starbuck coffee in exchange, go ahead and make the purchase. You'll be glad you did.

Ryan
Ryan,
Has a little burn to it, but the way it settles on the palate is very nice.

RICHARD
RICHARD,
Gets you to where you wanna go quickly. A little harsh at 1st but it is a higher alcohol content so that’s normal. I prefer a smoother burn.

Todd
Todd,
Smooth and complex.
