The Macallan Concept Series calls on exceptional casks to produce a rich and rewarding multi-sensory experience, where a powerful foundation is brought to life with flourishes and tones woven together to create a harmonious and vibrant work of art.

For Concept Number 2, the Whisky Maker and avid house DJ, Steven Bremner conducted Sherry-seasoned American Oak casks to bring a rhythmic sweetness of vanilla, citrus, and toffee. With the rounded spiciness of Miguel Martin Sherry casks he then created an energetic treble while introducing harmonies of floral citrus and vanilla with ex-Bourbon casks.

Single malt stands for around 10% of the Scotch market. This is a malt containing only one grain, legally required to be barley in Scotland, and made at a single distillery.

A blended Scotch is a combination of different malts from different distilleries. It is typically made from grain Whisky but does include malt Whisky to give it a more complex body.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
The Macallan Speyside estate is the only distillery ground in Scotland where you can fish for atlantic salmon. It sits right on the River Spey and from February to September is the perfect location for some salmon fishing.
Macallan is a popular choice among the younger Whisky drinking crowd and they do a lot of marketing activities to keep in touch with them. In 2016, they created a Facebook chatbot that answered questions about the brand and its Whiskies.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
