Top reviews for The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak:
— Absolutely the best. Smooth lingering after taste.
— I got this as a gift to myself for a promotion, and well what they say is true. The smoothest, fulfilling Scotch Whiskey I have had the chance of tasting. Only downside, its way too easy to finish a little more difficult to replace :)

Smooth as silk.
Complex sherry and toasted vanilla with a long spice finish.

Smooth and sherry.
Ok I’ll be the wet blanket. Is this a great scotch? No question about it. But...the price. For $320+ I could either buy a bottle of this, or...one bottle each of Oban 14, Talisker 10, Lagavulin 16 and Balveine 12 and enjoy a multitude of fantastic flavors. Of course if budgetary concerns are not a concern, then have at it. The Mac 18 is world class for sure.
The most classic Macallan, with very balanced floral and spice notes, and definitely more mellow and smoother than the 12 or 18 Sherry Oak. Lingering, languid finish. Overall it's not especially complex, but is especially good.
smoother than the 12 or 15 SO i mean..

Still my favorite scotch. So damn smooth.
The warmth that is felt while drinking this Scotch is all encompassing and superb. Excellent for a quiet evening. There are some drams that are actually an experience. This is one of them. From the nose to the taste to the finish, a long and silky journey. The fruit notes and mild spice are perfectly balanced, with none overtaking the other. Truly one of the "finer" things in life.
I’ve been a Macallan skeptic because of the pricing. I finally caved and bought a nice bottle to see what the hype was about. I hate so much that this is so good. There’s not a single thing I dislike about this whiskey. I had to put it in the back of the cabinet because I was drinking it too quickly.
My gold standard - best of the best (note that I don't like peaty or smoky so purists will disagree), and the one to which I compare all others. Pricey but worth it if you've got the cash.
By far my favorite of the Maccallan line. Smooth and strong. Warms you mouth to toes without the burning in your chest. Leaves the peat out of the equation for a clean Scotch taste. Not sweet or too spicy.
The bottle is too small. Or my wallet is.
Smooth, Smooth, Smooth. One of, if not the best scotch I have tasted. Better than any 21 year I have had for same money.
The aroma is strong vanilla and cinnimon. Very smooth, it went well with my Ashton Maduro #40 cigar.
This is by far my favourite whiskey of all time.
This is the pinnacle of a Highland malt. Sherry throughout, extremely smooth and some oaky dried fruits on the end. Not overly complex, but what a delight. Splurge on this one
Ultimate Macallan to me for the price point. Special occasions with friends that appreciate a good scotch.
Very smooth, wonderful finish. It's been a while since I had this one...before I drank much scotch, but I still remember who long the flavor lingers after drinking. This one convinced me there was a world of Scotch I needed to become aquatinted with.
A true classic, a must in any collection. After all these new very different type of whiskeys hit the market you can still rely on this classic when in need of a good scotch.
What's not to love? Classic Macallan sherry fruit, smooth
Orange. Cinnamon. Cloves. Brown sugar. Ginger with sherry. Dried mangos. Light and smooth
Very nice pallet covering. Some sweet notes but not too much burn.
The first whisky I fell in love with. Although I'm more of a Bourbon & Rye drinker now I still love this.
The additional aging adds to the already great flavor and smoothness.
Smooth and delicious. Makes the 12 year taste like gasoline by comparison.
This is one of my favorite bottle. Silky smooth and rich. Rolls right over the tong and fills your mouth with flavor!
