A fabulously sumptuous Macallan.

Ask any Whisky lover and they'll tell you The Macallan is a classy gentleman. The distillery by the River Spey has been making Whiskies since 1824 and they sure do know a thing or two about making great Scotch.

The distillery stands on a ridge above the River Spey and it got its name from an ancient church that had been burnt down in the 15th century. They have two "secrets" up their sleeve: top secret specially cultured yeast for the fermentation, and the smallest stills within the Scotch industry

The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak 2021 Release is every bit as fabulous as their previous release. This magic liquid spent 18 years maturing (And matured it did!) in hand-selected casks from Jerez. It’s soft and it’s rich with subtle flavors of spice, clove, orange, and toasted mature oak flowing on the absolutely gorgeous palate.

The Macallan Speyside estate is the only distillery ground in Scotland where you can fish for atlantic salmon. It sits right on the River Spey and from February to September is the perfect location for some salmon fishing.
Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
Beer and malt Whisky seem to have quite a bit in common. Both drinks begin with malted barley, which deliver the enzymes and sugars needed for fermentation when steeped in hot water. The two go their separate ways at the wash stage, where they're fermented or aged to become the adult beverages you know and love.
Scotland is home to more than 20 million casks of maturing Whisky. That’s four for every person living there. Nuts!
Blended Whiskies are the result of years of craftsmanship and dedication. A master blender does not simply wake up one day with a profound ability to create a cohesive and enjoyable liquid. From nosing the liquid to working out quantities of each different grain and malt to go into the blend, a master blender can take years, if not decades, to train.
First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
