Lot No. 40 Canadian Whisky is a throwback to both the 1990s and the 1920s.

Corby Spirit and Wine was founded in 1859. It is located in Corbyville, Ontario, Canada — a very small, rural town about 120 miles WNW of Toronto just off the north shore of Lake Ontario. The old, abandoned distillery building still be found there. Today, Corby Spirit and Wine is based in Toronto, has more than 200 employees, and is closely aligned with mega-spirits-giant Pernod Ricard who has taken a 46% ownership stake in the company. Corby produces several brands of spirits and markets Pernod Ricard products in Canada.

Lot No. 40 Canadian Whisky started as one of a the “Whisky Guild” series of special, limited edition spirits. It was a small-batch, blended Rye Whisky produced for lovers of Whisky and Whisky history. It was produced in the old-school, pre-Prohibition style, served at 43% ABV, and named after the plot of land owned by one of the founders — “Lot No. 40.” With the incredible popular resurgence of Rye Whisky in the marketplace, Pernod Ricard encouraged the re-launching of the Whisky as a stand-alone brand in 2012.

John,
LOVE it! No-GMO's... GREAT Rye flavor.. I'm mostly a Scotch, Irish kinda guy.. I don't find the kind of complexity I like with this.. BUT.. it's a wonderful change...

Aiden
Aiden,
Terrific flavor profile. The sourdough flavor is lovely and not overpowering. Strong on the nose, but the warmth at the back of my throat is very welcome. Nice spice level - complements the slight acidity on the finish. Great dram for the price, no question.
