Quality takes time. And, boy, did the Leopold Bros. take time with this one! 15 years of research to painstakingly re-engineer a time-honored American distilling tradition called a Three Chamber Still and working with local farmers to grow the low-starch, high-oil heritage grain Abruzzi rye that was favored by Pre-Prohibition distillers—a grain whose potential can only be unlocked by the extremely slow and cost-ineffective three chamber distillation.
That's how they passed the time in the (g)olden days. With today's hyperfast culture, it's hard to imagine waiting for more than a second for anything. But this high-rye Whiskey is definitely worth your time. And with its old-fashioned character and surprising complexity, you better give it time to tell its story. You know, just like back in the days, when people still had time to sit back and listen.
