Sweet, with nice vanilla notes. A excellent drink, thanks to the masterful blending from Suntory.
Very Impressed, smooth and flavorful with a bite
Reminds me a little of basil Hayden. But not as good as basil. Still recommend it though
Good, but did not love this, came up a bit flat for me.
I like the idea and with a little ice it really opens up, strangely I liked it less neat or else this would be 8 or 9
Aroma - I’m picking up some cinnamon but, it smells great. Taste - Got mostly “spicy”, tasted some chocolate covered raisins in there and a minor “peaty” taste as well. Finish - A touch of honey but, it seems like a lot of fruit. Not too bad, though. Sips well and, more than likely, will mix well, too. Something I’d buy again?? Eeh? Jury is still out.
This one is just an explosion o mouthfeel. Wonderful flavors of spice, cinnamon, and a hint of chocolate. Some fruit sweetness and a long finish.
Solid everyday bourbon. Smooth finish.
Great on ice, a great every day sipper
One of a very few bourbons I enjoy. Port finish overwhelms the corn sweetness!
Referred by a friend so I purchased a bottle. Very smooth and nice aroma. Will be a keeper in my bar.
I like this. It has a nice buttery finish. Probably would go well with a cigar. Worth a try!
I wasn't sure what to think of even after I'd had almost half the bottle but it grew on me in a big way. It's a keeper for me.
Definitely get the port finish. Sometimes east and west just doesn't mix.
For the first time very nice but my palette is completely reversed. I get sweet caramel and fruit on nose with some slight raisins but honestly more fig then after is the spice and smoke with some slight peat. Very nice. Simple and smooth.
Very smooth and nice aftertaste
This ranks right up there for me. Nutty and caramel on the nose. Sweet with a light peppery finish, medium in length. Good value at 35.
Decent taste. Nothing special
Appearance: Color is copper, decent legs... Nose: Fragrant, with the fruit of the Wine and Sherry mingling with the grain of the Bourbon. Background of baking spices and dry tannins from the Wines. As it sits, the fruit fades fairly quickly... Palate: Less sweet/fruity than the nose lets on, but the Wines influence is still present under the grain notes. Baking spices start showing in the midpalate. Fairly complex profile... Mouthfeel: Average... Finish: Baking spice lingers well after the finish... Overall: Unique but yet familiar profile, with the wine adding complexity while still being a classic Beam Bourbon.
nice carmel taste, smooth finish
I didn't really enjoy this one. Harsh, maybe I should have let it air out.
One of my favorites
smooth, good taste
Really good bourbon. Full of flavor and goes down easy. Not to mention the cost is great as well.
Maybe I expected more because of the people involved in the recipe.
Notes of Caramel, Vanilla, spice and a bit of fruit. A very smooth mouthfeel with a hint of smoke and fire in the aftertaste. The best whiskey I have had for under $50 no contest.
I don't remember the specific notes when drinking this, but I know that I wasn't a big fan. I'm also not a fan of Japanese whiskeys, and it was interesting to learn that one of the distillers came from Santory. I will say, this is probably a good marriage of Japan meets American Whiskey.
Smooth and spicy, with a great oak and sherry finish. Goes down easy with a nice long finish.
This s is a personal favorite summer style sipper - light, juicy, bursts of sherry sweetness, refreshing. Not quite a contemplative sipper so much as something you can keep in your glass when you're amongst friends... and, before you know it, your glass is empty.
Super smooth. Very easy to drink. What I’d describe as a light whiskey.
Very unique bourbon! Never have had anything quite like it.
Really liked the smooth, smoky sweetness. Easy going, a dram for any ocation. Vanilla and spice, but not too sweet. You can get the flavours of bourbon and the balance of a blend well executed and mellow. Will get another bottle.
Raw, dry, and young.
Bit rough, thought it was going to special but not sure it has anything going for it that I care about.
I was a huge fan of this bottle. All of the notes hit and I was sad when it was gone
Very smooth with a bit of sweetness. Outstanding marriage of Kentucky and Japanese style!
Not too shabby! Lots of vanilla on the nose, toasted peanut on the palate and just a little mesquite vapor at the finish.
A delightfully smooth bourbon that’s sweet without being too sweet.
Loved it. Very interesting.
Love it, it is a great value at the current price point
Interesting, good value, will keep it in my bar selection.
Love it - smooth with a little sweetness.
Bitter fruits like jam with caramel finish
This is so smooth, so delicious with a perfect amount of sweetness and little oak. It is a great bourbon, especially at this price!
Very good. Smooth finish. Works great with just a glass. Will order again.
Unique flavor, with a little sweetness on the.back end
I don’t get any smoke, but it’s spicy and a good citrus flavor. Would get again.
Taste on this one is a bit off. Definitely not your typical bourbon taste, it’s okay in the beginning but the aftertaste is not flattering. I gave it six because it became better one I opened it and let it sit for a few weeks, wouldn’t buy it again.
Beautiful bottle. I absolutely love the story behind this instant classic. As far as the bourbon itself, it is not my favorite, but I did enjoy it.
Good smooth taste. First sip has a burn, but after a few it is full bodied and tasty
Added a touch of water to open it up and it is delicious.
I love the spice. I love the aromatic typical bourbon nose. At first. After that, you really hit the sherry flavors on the pallet. I also registered a bit or orange zest, vanilla, almonds, in addition to the smoky earthy ends.
Excellent- balanced. Slightly different profile but smooth and really drinkable. Pick up a bottle unique and well worth the price.
First when I opened the bottle I smelled a candied fruit smell.
