Legacy is another in the long line of traditional blended Canadian Whiskies. Legacy is owned by Sazerac, and their master blender Drew Mayville had the task of creating this third in a line of Canadian Whiskies for them.

This one sits just below Royal Canadian Whisky, and Caribou Crossing is way up on the top of the Sazerac Canadian stack. Legacy is aged a minimum of three years in oak.

The flavor jumps out at you fast with rye spice and anise seed. On second sip the flavors settle down with dried cherry, dark chocolate, and a dash of crisp toffee.

There is also a lavender-like aroma — a bit like the fancy soaps you get in nice hotel rooms — lingering somewhere in the background. Not unpleasant, just unique.
