Evan,
I think this is very up to personal taste. Wonderful almond notes, very smooth.
Seth,
Just not to my taste. I've enjoyed most sherry cask finish whiskeys I've tried to date, but did not enjoy the almond profile in this particular offering.
Dan,
My kind of whiskey
Cameron,
Did not enjoy
Jacqueline,
Not horrible but definitely not my cup of whiskey!
John,
Great flavor, I really enjoyed this whiskey, this was my first Japanese whiskey and I was really impressed
Bernadette,
Somewhere between an American bite and some fruity oak.
Ashley,
Butter and zest on the nose. Almond and peanut on the palate. Slight oak and vanilla. Three drops of water bring out mineral, zest and spice. Three more and I get lightly toasted oak and a lot of spice. Better at the higher abv, but never unpleasant. Second tasting: strong mineral and zest. Not much almond this time.
Scott,
Lots of honey notes
Jarod,
Hmm.. never had a Japanese whisky before. Not as unique as I'd expected for coming from the other side of the world It has a strong nutty taste which I enjoyed and quite a kick with some woody undertones. Not very smooth, though. I'm a bit undecided but I don't think I'd order it at a bar.
Suzanne,
Not horrible, but nothing special. Not particularly sharp or sweet. A typical whisky, perfectly acceptable.
John,
Pretty good, but not my favorite. I like the flavors of almond and oak and sherry. They are however, a little too faint. The texture also burns a little too much for my taste
guest,
Too peppery and earthy for my taste. Drowns our other things trying to come out.
Huagang,
Subtle and reserved flavours, not bad.
Tom,
Sweet, tastes like cereal. OK, but not worth the price.
Chris,
Good fruity flavor bit of a burn on the finish
Tammy,
I wanted to like this more than I did. Tastes a bit harsh and like just alcohol.
Antti,
It is a very good, elegant, Pure Malt Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a rich birth that leads to an elegant death of medium length with notes of port & barley.
Emily,
Not crazy about this one - too harsh for me.
Peter,
Very smooth and drinkable.
Zachary,
It's OK 🤷🏼♂️
Gary,
It had a funky aftertaste. If 5 stars is an average whiskey then this is below average.
Matthew,
Color is light amber. Nose is sherry forward, with a mild background of malt, dried fruit, and mild salinity. First sip is salty and full of tannin. Malt follows, along with a mild vanilla creaminess. Finish is a mild baking spice. Too much tannin for me to enjoy the rest of flavors.
Jackie,
Too synthetic, too much alcohol and sherry.
Wyatt,
Very bitter. Not my taste at all.
brian,
Almond, cherry, leather, some sweet/salty sherry taste. Dark chocolate. 1-12 advent calendar. Sweet after taste like bourbon.
John,
Sweet. Can definitely taste the Sherry influences. Oak on the palate. More Sherry and less oak compared to macallan 12 Sherry. Slightly intense heat on the finish.
Dan,
My first Japanese whisky. It’s nice
Lee,
Sweet, caramel, brown sugar notes
Liz,
Smells like a goji berry, tastes
like zinc and has a scotch afterburn without the flavor.
Stephanie,
Light flavor, however a bold finish
Kevin,
My first Japanese whiskey, I liked it, sherry cask finish made it very delightful and light
Jason,
A sweet scotch
Carmelo,
Not a great whiskey. Yes a lot of flavor but not in a good way. It’s not smooth and def. needs ice.
