A book you really can judge by its cover.

Koval is the first small batch distillery in Chicago since the dark days of the prohibition era, and one of the leading craft distilleries in the US. It was founded in 2008 by Robert and Sonat Birnecker who abandoned their academic careers to follow their hearts. Growing up, Robert lived near Salzburg, Austria, and was immersed in a culture of small batch distilling, so perhaps this is destiny. For those of us who love great Spirits, it is just good luck for us!

The distillery supports sustainable agriculture and is certified as both organic and kosher—there’ll be no outsourcing for these kids. In eight short years they have expanded their miracle-working to … geez, just about everything from Gin, to Whiskey, to Liqueurs, and a bunch of other fiddly things, all of them professionally crafted and tasty-good. In fact, they are rated as one of the top ten small-batch distilleries in the US.

Koval Dry Gin is made from the grain base of their award winning Whisky, and of course the addition of juniper, grains of paradise, rose hip, angelica root and coriander. This crisp Gin has a slightly higher content of alcohol which gives an even bigger kick of taste… Sweet!

Koval Barreled Gin is the best of both worlds. Their award-winning Gin aged six months in their own ex-Whiskey casks, the flavors richer and deeper without losing their individual character. It’s London meets Louisville…Queen Elizabeth dating Frank Sinatra.

Gin lovers will immediately notice the familiar crisp freshness of the rose hips, juniper, angelica root, and coriander that makes their Gin sing. Whiskey savants will recognize the familiar vanilla notes and creamy texture.

Forget all that beauty is only skin deep crap. These bottles are beautiful in mind, body, and Spirit. Bottled in an eye-catching packaging, the liquid inside is just as beautifully crafted. A great gift for the Gin and the Whiskey connoisseur.

Flavor Spiral™

About The Flavor Spiral

What does Koval Gin Gift Pack taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Koval Gin Gift Pack and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.
Dog Dogson
Dog Dogson's
Few Gin distillers make their own alcohol. Gin usually starts with neutral Spirit: A commodity that distillers buy in bulk. It’s what the distiller does with this commodity in the flavor-infusing process that makes each Gin different.

Koval Dry Gin

Ratings & Reviews
Great packaging, liked the difference in both gins but not a go to gin for me.
The dry gin was very nice - pleasant to sip and would work well in cocktails. Lightly floral and the juniper is pleasant, not overbearing. The barreled version is quite nice. It's noticeably softer, similar to Barr's Old Tom. The two distinct flavors and the packaging make this a great purchase or gift for gin fans looking to try something new.
This came in such a pretty package - perfect for a gift for a gin lover. thoroughly enjoyed tasting and comparing the Dry Gin and the Barreled. Both were very good and I will likely be ordering a couple of these for Christmas gifts.
The dry gin was exceptional - one of the better I've had - I've never tried Barreled Gin before - but I can tell you now that I will likely never buy dry gin again - and I really like gin - but this barreled gin is worlds above anything I've ever had in a gin - I recommend it to any gin drinker - it will change your view of gin!
The gold bottle was an interesting flavor. I’ve never had a gin barrel aged before. Very interesting flairs. The silver gin was what I am used to and it was not disappointing!
