Nearly one thousand years ago, the first Polynesians set sail to the East in search of land. They brought only small riches with them in their boats, but one no-brainer was selected varieties of Kō, sugar cane. Sugar cane is a superior plant that was used in and around homes, cherished for its sweet ample juice, medicinal qualities, and even some magical ones. As a main ingredient of an ancient love ceremony Hana Aloha, Kō was thought to arouse a deep and everlasting love. And it sure does. This magical plant is still worshiped on Hawaii islands, nowadays mostly by the Kō Hana distillery. Nurturing different varieties of sugarcane, hand harvesting them, pressing them to juice, and distilling them to perfection, Kō Hana is producing one of the finest Rums in the world.
In 2021, after a year of searching for the perfect mixes for a Daiquiri, Kō Hana surprised us with a collection of craft cocktails, using their exquisitely amazing Rum and some natural flavors to produce the perfectly mixed Daiquiris and turn us all into the best mixologist ever. Their Hawaiian Hemingway Daiquiri Cocktail is a ready to drink mix of Kō Hana Rum and grapefruit, an extremely well-balanced cocktail with a nice bitter finish, courtesy of the grapefruit. This cocktail is bottled at a pleasant ABV of 22%, and is best enjoyed chilled or over some ice.
