The much anticipated follow-up to Kentucky Owl’s string of glorious Straight Rye Whiskeys.

The original Kentucky Owl Whiskey was made by Charles Mortimer Dedman in the late 1800s. After every drop of this "Wise Man’s Whiskey" in inventory was, ahem… "confiscated" by federal agents under mysterious circumstances at the start of Prohibition, the C.M. Dedman Distillery faded into history. But just a few years ago his great-great-grandson — Dixon Dedman — revived the brand, creating the Kentucky Owl Bourbons and Ryes as small batch, super-premium Spirit blends.

Fans clammer for these premium Rye releases. They win awards and taste amazing. We’ve written about them ourselves and sold out of stock lickety-split. Kentucky Owl Straight Rye Whiskey Batch No. 3 was announced in August and is just arriving at our Faviar worldwide distribution headquarters. Here are the spec’s — it’s a ten year-old, Straight Rye but there is a lot of older juice in the bottle as well. It’s delivered at a whopping 57% ABV, so every drop is packed with performance.

Rye sparked the first revolution after the American Independence. It was called the Whiskey Rebellion, and it arose when the government tried to tax Whiskey and enforce the taxation on distillers. The lesson here? Don't mess with a Whiskey drinker's dram.
George Washington famously loved his Rye Whiskey. In fact, after he served as the first president of the United States, he returned to his farm at Mount Vernon and started a small Rye distillery of his own.
Rye - think of it as Bourbon's edgier cousin. It’s known for what many call a spicy or fruity flavor. Rye (distilled from at least 51% Rye) is not on the sweet side and tends to have a spicier body. That’s why the character of a cocktail made from Rye, instead of Bourbon, is drier.
A decade ago there were only 6 brands of Rye Whiskey hailing from Kentucky, nowadays there are more than 50!
