Top reviews for Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak:

— Really nice sherry bomb. It's a different feel than your usual Macallan or Glenfarclas sherry notes but the men at Kavalan delivered an extremely tasty and great whiskey here. Very good value in my opinion!

— I am familiar with Kavalan. Tasted several ones. They are splendid single malts. I hope this sherry oak comes close to the limited Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique i have bought in 2015.

— So refreshing. I cant wait to open another bottle.

guest,
Very prominent sherry and cherry flavors, dark color is enticing, rich mouth feel, long finish.

Troy
Troy,
Very smooth. Initial nose was sweet cherries that eased into plum. It started as dark cherries on the tongue with a hint of barley melting away into a nice slow burn. I swear I detected a very faint hint of peat after I had swallowed. The sherry aging is very noticeable, but I like that. There a hints of sweet maple here and there, but nothing overwhelming to me. If you like peaty things, this is not the whisky for you. But if you enjoy a smooth and deep dram, I think this is very nice.
