Jaakko
Jaakko,
Nice colour, natural light gold. Nose has... vodka? More than anything else. First sip is salty, but there’s actually no taste? Like at all. It feels like a heavy alcohol in the mouth, really smooth etc. but there’s absolutely no taste to be observed. Second sip has something in the beginning but it passes quick and there’s just tingling sensation of salt left. Very confusing, is this supposed to be like this? I’ll let this rest for a while and try it another time and let’s see if I can find something then or not.

Damon
Damon,
Really well balanced, with enough complexity to keep it interesting without being challenging. Enjoyed over a large cube.

Antony
Antony,
Nicely rounded. Plays with a lot of taste buds.

John
John,
Very drinkable citrus and vanilla with a just shy of boring nose but makes up for it with an oaky finish that’s sweet - but not too sweet

Joseph

Not a bad drink. The small bite tends to linger on the tongue long after.

No smell, sweetness and lightness up front that gets more intense and Smokey, with a light citrusy finish

Light Whisky and easily drinkable. Goes well with Spicy food

Spicy taste and lingering in finish is appreciated, not very forceful. Would welcome more vibrant smell.

Dominic
Dominic,
Very interesting whisky, not had anything like it before. Very smooth at first then once you swallow the spice kicks in, good long linger on the palate so overall a good one to have in the collection. Interesting story behind it also which makes it a good one for whisky evenings

Piotr
Piotr,
Nothing special. Acceptable. Worse than any decent single malt scotch.

Roy
Roy,
A brilliant one from Kaiyo! Enjoyed the smoke and would be interested to compare with an different Oak. I'm trying to keep it at the back of the cabinet so I don't go through it too quickly!

Mia
Mia,
Very nice, a great daily, semi-daily pour. The sweet taste on the Honey, Apple, and Citrus isn't overbearing, but very nice to the palate.

Fairly underwhelming for me personally, but I got the smoke/wood.

Huat,
This is my first time trying Kaiyo and to my surprise that it turns out to be an amazing experience! It has the smokiness character yet not overwhelming and it blends well with the sweetness from the honey and vanilla, which turns out to be a smooth drink

Smells of Honey and Wood. Tastes of Honey but mostly campfire smoke. Jordan - reminds me of the smell of the old wood paneling in my house.

A hot honey nose. Smooth and sweet the first few sips, then spice and smokiness start to build.

Amelia,
Honey up front, woody, vanilla

Owen
Owen,
You'd be forgiven for thinking this was a scotch. I found it light and sweet on the nose with those hints of honey that they said were in it. Strong woody and smoky taste initially with aftertaste that lingers on the palate. Could be mistaken for peaty flavour but it's not. I'll be buying a bottle of this very very soon.

Rich
Rich,
Sting alcohol smell, smelled very strong and long finish with lots of bite.

Blaine
Blaine,
First smell was very strong but settled into the caramel vanilla smell after a bit. Settled very easily in the pallet finished with a slightly smoky then spicy finish that lasted awhile. Overall very tasty. Noticed the flavor wheel that cane with the sampler was totally different then the one on the app. App seemed more accurate. I’d definitely buy the bottle in the future

Rusty

Antti
Antti,
It is an intense Japanese Mizunara Oak Whisky that has an aromatic birth; while a complex life leads to a bold & oily death of medium length.

Jason
Jason,
Opens up after 15 minutes. Phenols strong on initial pour.

Christopher
Christopher,
This is my first experience with mizunara and I LOVED it. Light, sweet incense and floral notes that give way to wood and smoke. Each tasting seems to ebb and flow (like the ocean waves it spent time aging on?) in the flavors of the palate that are featured, which I know can be a turn off for some, but it’s something I really enjoy in a whiskey

Peter
Peter,
Smoke overpowers the berries a little but overall a nice taste.

Nakeva,
Although not a fan of smoky/wood, this had an interesting flavor set. Smooth throughout and allows a minute for the sweet to sneak into the picture.

John
John,
Almost loved this one. Not a fan of the smoky wood combo. But the way the honey blends into it is well done.

Smooth, honey stands out, medium burn but doesn’t last to long. Woody little bit of citrus. Aroma is amazing

Oaky. Simple and nice. Vanilla.

Matthew
Matthew,
Color is a gold. Nose starts with a grassy, oily phase, followed by hints of honey and vanilla. First sip starts with a little mellow spice and smokiness, but not peat, more just a whiff of passing fire pit. This transitions to a subtle vanilla and honey middle, with a smooth mouthfeel, with faint notes of fruit. Finish is a return of the gentle spice, though only for a short time. Punches above its proof, but the finish could be longer. Overall, good, but not worth the price tag

Ivan
Ivan,
I like it, oily, oaky, sweet, not too smoky. Not very spicy, doesn't linger on the tongue for long. Another review suggested to let it roll around in your mouth for a bit, i agree.

Leo
Leo,
Not very smooth

Daniel
Daniel,
Sweet, cinnamon, clove, oak, smoke, white pepper. A bit of ice helped tone down the sweetness and bring out the oak. Not a very long finish. It’s decent, but a little too sweet for my taste.

Mark
Mark,
Dark honey with a solid oak flavor. Better when you roll it around a bit. Slightly sweet.
