Craft Journey.

Journeyman distillery is located in Three Oaks, Michigan. This artisan distillery is located in EK Warren Historic Featherbone Factory, a former Buggy Whip, and Corsets factory built in 1883. Journeyman distillery is a grain-to-bottle distillery, meaning they do every step of the way themselves. Everything about them is hand-crafted, and their passion is crafting the best possible product, starting from scratch, never compromising on the quality. Originally they started-off with Whiskey, but have now expanded the range to include Gin, Rum and Vodka, as well.

Journeyman Bilberry Black Hearts Gin is infused with 9 botanicals. The main ingridient is Bilberry, a cousin of huckleberry and blueberry, which is smaller and of fuller taste and is extremely hard to grow, thus seldom cultivated. The fruit is mostly collected from wild plants growing on public lands. It is an everyman’s right to collect bilberries irrespective of land ownership. The bilberry is dark in color and usually appears black, thus the berry was commonly refereed to as a black heart in 19th century south-western England. The 9 botanicals are macerated in 100% Organic wheat base spirit and then distilled.
