A nice whisky. Starts with intense smoky vanilla (think Uganda or Mexico - smoky, not fruity), mild honey and oak/old furniture. Smooth - no heat/burn from the alcohol. Finish turns to gingerbread and dried citrus. All around delicious but the weight here is thin as a result of watering down to 40%. This would be much better at cask strength and priced accordingly.
Easily one of the best of the Johnnie Walker line. Not too harsh and not too easy. Great dram and is becoming hard to find. If you find, get a bottle. You will not be disappointed. Great Scotch.
I know it's popular to diss Johnnie Walker, but I grew up drinking it with my Dad and today it's my go-to inexpensive nightly sipper. I know the taste and flavors like the back of my hand.
Perfectly peated, smooth, tastes almost savory. A great introduction to peated whisky without some of those funky flavors that might turn someone off before they get accustomed to peat.
First of all, I am going to say this is the first time I've had scotch. I can say, this is the best scotch I've ever had. More of a bourbon guy. Not a fan of the aroma. There's a pleasant hint of vanilla and honey that rests on lips. There is a taste to this I cannot relate to. I'm going to say I am not a fan.
Refreshing change of pace for the Johnnie Walker brand. Love the Game of Thrones theme and vibe, and this was a spicy alternative to Johnnie Walker Black.
I have only been able to get this outside of the states it is smooth moderately priced and good for sipping with a cigar. I also, love the bottle it is fun.
It is both a very good and smooth drink, and also a great show-off!
The show-off factor however messes with the drink - and the spirit by itself is wonderful and a joy to sip!
Very smoky blended whisky with notable pepper notes. Has got many faces. With ice smoky notes are weaker, but there is some malty sweetness and some zesty notes. Nice, but not very nice. Rather with ice, not with mixers or alone.
Smooth and smokey, very enjoyable with a drop of water or an ice cube. Giving it a 7 mainly because I think it’s overpriced and I’d rather the Gold Reserve
