Re-launch of iconic Whiskey brand.

Elijah Pepper started his legacy in the Whiskey industry at the dawn of the American Revolution. Building his first log cabin distillery in Versailles, during the Kentucky War in 1812. The family business was then passed down through generations, to his son Oscar, and then to his grandson James E. Pepper. James E. Pepper became a big name in Whiskey all throughout the American Revolution.

James was born with Bourbon in his blood. He was no stranger to the high life as a Kentucky Bourbon aristocrat. Pepper fancied all of the blue blood activities, racing his thoroughbreds in Kentucky Derbies, and riding around in private railcars.

It is rumored that THE “Old Fashioned” cocktail, invented at the Waldorf Astoria in New York, was said to have been named in his honor by a bartender at the famed Pendemmis Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

Whiskey fell on hard times in 1958, and so did Pepper Whiskey. They eventually closed down, mothballed until plans to relaunch the brand were set in motion. James E. Pepper Whiskey is currently renovating and rebuilding the historic distillery, and the brand is set to relaunch late 2017. This Rye has a 90% rye mash bill, pushing the higher end of the ABV scale, bottled at a solid 50%.
