Ichiro's Malt Chichibu IPA Cask Finish 2017 Release is an outstanding, intense, Japanese Single Malt Whisky by the Hanyu Distillery; matured in a bourbon barrel before being finished in an IPA barrel; with an outrun of 6700 bottles. For this 2017 IPA Cask Finish, the distillery worked together with Japanese beer brewers (like Shigakogen). The brewers were granted wooden casks from Chichibu for aging their IPA in & after that Chichibu finished this whisky for a couple of months. It has a sweet life with notes of oak, smoke & honey; while life adds notes of hoppy bitterness, lemon zest & malt; that leads to a long & complex death with notes of pear, apple pie & cereal.
