A beautiful tropical Rum blend, carefully crafted in Scotland.

House of Elrick sits tight in Aberdeen in the idyllic Scottish Lowlands. This is a small batch and artisanal Spirits company that was established in the 1700s, which was the height of the enlightenment era. With their selection of fine, hand-crafted Gins and Spirits and inspired by a radical shift against the ‘norm’, they quickly became the centre for artists and poets who enjoyed a glass (or two) of London Dry Gin over exchanges of their philosophies. Today, House of Elrick still gets their water from Loch Ness and they use 8 carefully selected botanicals in their Gins. They also still boast a beautiful handmade Scottish copper still known as “Charlie” after Bonnie Prince Charlie to make their single shot Spirit, which allows them to control the production.

House of Elrick Tropical Black Pineapple Rum was created to celebrate the link between Scottish and Rum. Did you know that back in the 1800’s the west coast of Scotland was a hub for Rum production? And have you noticed the label, featuring The Honu a.k.a. Sea Turtle? It’s a symbol of good luck and represents the link between people, land, and the ocean. For this tasty Rum, the Elrick Estate carefully sourced ingredients to create a delicate white Rum. Blended with black pineapple, this dram includes Caribbean Light Rum, including Rum from the Dominican Republic and Trinidad. The result is smooth, sweet, and packed with juicy flavors of pineapple and mango. Savor it with lots of ice, add your favorite mixer, and garnish with pineapple or citrus.

Rum used to be accepted as a form of currency in Europe and Australia, a practice we should probably bring back into fashion.

Rum is a sugar cane based spirit, primarily made in the Caribbean and Latin America, but you can really find Rum in many corners of the world.

Next time you have a tipple of Rum you can say that you're tapping the Admiral. This intriguing phrase comes from the great Admiral Nelson who was killed in the battle of Trafalgar off of Spain. The story is that his body was preserved in Rum to be shipped back to England but, when the barrel arrived, some of the Rum was missing and said to have been siphoned off by some desperate or unknowing sailors. It's a great story but most likely false.
Rum (usually) comes from molasses, the sweet and syrupy residue of refining sugarcane into sugar. Molasses is over 50% sugar, but it also contains significant amounts of minerals and other trace elements, contributing to the final flavor.
