Reviews and Tasting Notes

Appearance / Color
Rosy Amber

Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aromas are well-balance between smoky brine and creamy mixed fruits.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Interestingly, the flavors bloom on the palate in wave — first dried apricots and apples, then beaches and sea, then back again and again.

Finish
It’s nice and long on the finish with licorice and honey.

Michael,
Meh. Not great. Drinkable, but disappointing compared to Highland Park's other offerings.

Philip
Philip,
If you are a fan of peaty scotches then the smoke really comes through. It maintains the fruity flavor with a hint of vanilla and spices common Highland Park’s 16 year old but, again, with a smoky edge. The finish is long, with a clingy, earthy presence, somewhat less than Lagavulin but more so than 10 year Talisker.

Dennis
Dennis,
I had the 18 year 1st, so this one is not as rounded as the other but still good, drink this daily and 18 year on birthdays and holidays

David
David,
At the price point I’d recommend grabbing the 16year instead. Still good HP, but I prefer the 12 & 16yr over this one

Alexandra

Scott,
Really nice Smokey flavor. Smooth but just enough bite. Would recommend for the price.

Joshua
Joshua,
I loved the smokiness of this scotch.

Todd
Todd,
This is lovely until you exhale, then the smoke takes over. Perhaps I'm not ready to be a dragon.

Bob
Bob,
smoky all the way through
