From the most northerly distillery in the World.

Situated on the island of Orkney to the west of Kirkwall, HIghland Park is the most northerly distillery in the World. It was founded by Magnus Eunson in the late 18th century,  one of many Orcadian smugglers and illicit Whisky producers who rebelled against the heavy excise duties imposed to finance the war with Napoleon. It is said that he used his position as church officer to conceal Whisky beneath the church pulpit.

The distillery was licensed in 1826 by Robert Borwick, whose son-in-law, the local Exciseman John Robertson, is generally credited with routing out the smugglers. Highland Park is one of the few distilleries to use hard water. Also unusual is the use of traditional floor maltings for germinating the barley, which is then dried over a fire of local aromatic heather peat. This is the source of the heathery smokiness that is characteristic of Highland Park Whiskies.

Highland Park 25 Year Old is matured using a high proportion of first-fill Sherry casks, which not only impart a wonderful richness, but also an intensely dark and full-bodied flavour profile. It was named the "Best Spirit in the World 2013" in the International Spirits Journal.

Ratings & Reviews
Amazing! You can get lost in the aroma and then you get to taste it!
If you enjoy Highland Park 12 and 15 but were bored with 18, fear not, this is a happy balance between the oakiness of 12 and the spiciness of 15. I have to admit, this is an absurdly expensive bottle and the value proposition has dwindled to near nil. However, this is a really fine Scotch and if your checkbook is still hanging on it's a bottle you'll definitely enjoy. On the nose is a bunch of oak (25 years worth to be exact). On the palette is a wonderfully balance of caramel, nut, and honey. The finish is rich and lasting; sweet with a balanced amount of peat.
Simply the best!
That is a darn good whisky. Not quite the state of ecstasy that Highland Park 40 induces, but solid, and much cheaper.
An explosion of flavours like the roughness of the island. In the beginnjng all's quiet and well, and after a while you will taste an explosion of flavours.
The best
Stunning expression. I prefer the 25 YO over the 30 YO. My favorite single malt during the autumn months.
