Join the clubAn outstanding Swedish Whisky, crafted with the finest ingredients.
High Coast Whisky is crafted in a Swedish distillery in the most northern part of Sweden, right where the Ångerman river merges into sea. Not a lot of roads or busy Whisky shops there but that’s okay with these guys. Proud to be sitting on the outskirts of Whisky world, they make the most out of their surroundings. Especially the dramatic temperature variations that do wonders for aging Whisky and the ice-cold Ångerman river that supplies the distillery with endless pure water. Their Whisky is all about 3 ingredients: water, grains, and yeast that they source from a French distillery for extra fruitiness. The barrels come from all over the world and their mash is inspired by Japanese Whiskies.
Hav being the Swedish word for sea, High Coast Hav Single Malt Whisky celebrates the distillery’s northern heritage. High Coast is all about transparency and they share their recipe in great detail. It’s crafted from mostly unpeated Whisky with a bit of peated Whisky added. Most of it is matured in Hungarian oak and Swedish oak casks for 5 months and finished to ex-Bourbon barrels from Kentucky for more than 6 years. About a third of the blend was aged only in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished in Hungarian oak. The result? A well-balanced palate with fruity and spicy notes balanced by tasty peat.
