Brandon,
I was hoping for a bourbon with a hint of brown sugar and this is like a nice version of a brown sugar fireball. The whiskey flavor is barely present. We’re going to use it in place of Brandy for Hot Totties but I much prefer sipping bourbons.
Cori,
Too sweet
Craig,
Best tasting bourbon straight up and it goes great with apple cider!
Shawn,
My experience is similar to others, it is sweet. BSB 103 taste great neat or on the rocks! I am new to bourbon so I haven't tried many others out there. I originally bought 5 different brands/bottles to try them, and this one "disappeared" the fastest! Loves the aftertaste.
Michael,
I had an old bottle my dad had, the crystallization on the bottle moth and screw top should have made me reconsider, but I pressed on. The smell (granted, this was an old open bottle) is brutal. Like a sweet rubbing alcohol. Hint of cinnamon on the front. Very sweet. May be good for a mulled drink, a hot toddy, or a mix. Not so good straight, at least not for me.
Judy,
As some of the others have stated, this was too sweet for me.
Tiffany,
You have to know what you are getting with this. It's sweet, very sweet. This is not your normal bourbon. I prefer the 103 to balance out the sweetness. But, this is a put on your sweater, throw it on the rocks, and enjoy the fall kinda drink. If you are wanting a regular bourbon, look elsewhere. If you are wanting to drink something that reminds you of campfires with friends, fall days, and fun times, this is it. Especially good to make as an old fashion with chocolate bitters or mix with pineapple and lemonade (trust me).
Craig,
way to sweet for my tastes. it is more like like drinking cotton-candy that sipping Bourbon.
Jamie,
This is so good on ice. At first I had some neat and it was a bit much. But I’m on my second bottle now. It’s a go to for friends and affordable depending on wheee you buy it.
Stacie,
This is a favorite! Absolutely love it. Really smooth!
Joe,
Great sipping bourbon. Drink it straight or with a splash of water. One of my favorites and I have purchased it again for myself and to share with a family member.
Troy,
So sugary
Bill,
It was definitely sweet, it overpowered the Bourbon taste.
It is definitely unique.
would probably not buy it again.
Jamie,
Not what I expected. More like gold schlager than brown sugar.
Eleanor,
I tasted more brown sugar than bourbon
Dwight,
Incredibly sweet. Too sweet for my liking. Will need to mix this in order to finish the bottle.
Stephen,
Sweet to the point of distraction, and it's taste is cloying. Even mixed, these elements came through.
James,
Way too sweet for me
Danial,
Loved it.
I could tast brown sugar, Carmel, and spice.
Nathan,
Intensely sweet and too cloying to drink straight for me. However, this flavored bourbon excels when used to make marinades, bbq sauce and in baked goods. More suitable for the pantry than the liquor cabinet!
Travis,
Sweet, VERY sweet, almost obscenely so. but a family favorite. Tastes almost like a spoonful of molasses, with the bourbon burn immediately following. Makes for a fantastic dessert-sipper. Careful though, that 60-proof is very easy to overdo!
John,
Taste like apple pie moonshine too sweet for my taste
William,
Pretty good for a flavored bourbon. Personally, too sweet for me.
guest,
Pretty sweet. Gateway drink for those new to whiskey.
Anthony,
Great bourbon, cinnamon and brown sugar, very sweet but I like that. Only 60 proof, which makes for a less biting feel to drink straight, also is phenomenal in coke.
Colton,
Nice balanced sweet, definitely a slow sipper on ice
Sean,
Great to sip on if you like sweet and spicy. Smooth and goes down easy. I wouldn't mix this with a soda but would probably drop a shot into a pint of cider.
Katrinia,
good by itself but when paired with a coke it will get you in trouble.......but that could have been just me.
Joshua,
a fine sipper, if a little sweet for my taste; still, a richer flavor than, say, Maker's Mark
Keith,
One of the best bourbons I have had in a while. Straight from the bottle to the palate, it's smooth all around. For your winter pick me up, add a little cider and it's a great late night sip.
Nikki,
Almost too easy to drink. Smooth and sweet. Cinnamon French toast...over ice.
Craig,
Smooth, slight sweetness and delicious. Great in the hot tub !!
Natasha,
This is a bit much on its own but works in mixed drinks very well. It was like eating a spoon full of liquid brown sugar and honey, very very sweet
Jodi,
Very sweet. Good desert drink.
Jodi,
Really sweet. Great as a desert drink on it's own or mixed into a special concoction.
Muriel,
Spiced flavored and not too harsh, would be great for mixed holiday beverages
James,
It was love at first sip....which is the best way to enjoy bsb. Goes well with a meal or with a dessert. Add a hint of water if you desire to reduce the syrupy texture. Excellent sipping bourbon.
Dan,
Way too sweet. I’d buy Mrs. Buttersworth if I wanted syrup. Heritage makes others way more appealing than this. FYI- I live 2 miles from the distillery.
Zachary,
Overly sweet, not bad but needs something to cut it. Wouldn't drink straight.
Nathan,
A lovely, relaxing bourbon that does indeed taste like brown sugar. If you don't like brown sugar, look elsewhere!
Heather,
This is an absolutely delicious way to end a meal or just the day. The warmth and the taste are like a cozy warm blanket tucking me in at night!
Kerry,
Hints of cinnamon and brown sugar. Good for sipping or to sweeten a mixed drink.
Jodi,
Sweet and smooth
Kyle,
My favorite new brand! L0ve it!!
Julianna,
Sweet with a nice cinnamon flavor as well.
Anthony,
Love it
Ryan,
Too sweet for my taste. The brown sugar is so overpowering it might as well be a fruit brandy.
Daniel,
Excellent Bourbon. Unlike any Bourbon I had before. Definitely not a drink you can have many of as it is very sweet. but after dinner or even poured over ice cream would be a treat.
Anthony,
Great any time of day my fav
Brad,
This "bourbon" is VERY sweet, but I also think it hardly qualifies as a true bourbon. It's more like a flavored whiskey like Fireball or something. The BSB 103 is a much higher alcohol content and is better overall, in my humble opinion.
Shaun,
It doesnt meet the legal requirements to be 'bourbon' in more than one way.
It is a bit shady here, but the name is Brown Sugar Bourbon, and the product is a flavored whiskey.
Bret,
It's like they added a lot of brown sugar to hide the fact their bourban is cheap. Can't taste much besides the sweetness of the brown sugar.
