The beautiful palate of rose, cucumber, and pine is augmented by exotic rainforest herbal notes.

Hendrick’s Gin was launched by William Grant & Sons in 1999. It’s produced at their Girvan Distillery in South Ayrshire, Scotland — built in 1963. Somewhat famously, the distillery was built in a hurry due to a quarrel between William Grant & Sons and a supplier — Distillers Company Limited (DCL). From ground break to production took a short nine months. They produce several Single Malt and blended Whiskies there, in addition to Hendrick’s Gins.

Hendrick’s Gin is definitely one of our favorites. The line is super-high-quality and the flavor profile of the entire line leans towards a soft palate with brilliant aromatic florals. This combination makes Hendrick’s not just our Gin of choice for a Vesper Martini — it’s our secret weapon. So, we were really excited to get our hands on a few cases of Hendrick's Amazonia Gin. It’s not a part of the core lineup. Most of the time you have to find it in those duty-free travel retail outlets. It’s built on top of the signature Hendrick’s rose and cucumber infused Spirit with the addition of exotic South American botanicals.

Smartass Corner:
Master Distiller Lesley Gracie spent three weeks in the Amazon Rainforest learning about native plants. The special formulation of Hendrick’s Amazonia is inspired by that experience.

Finish
The finish is clean and refreshing with a perfume that seems to last forever.

Gin gets its dominant flavour from juniper berries. As with many other spirits, Gin was originally intended to be used as medicine. Yeah right!
How much Tonic is in a Gin & Tonic? The ideal proportions for a perfect Gin & Tonic is one part Gin and two parts Tonic.
The first spirit from the distillery ran in Christmas of 1963, as a memoir to William Grant, who managed to produce the first spirit of Glenfiddich, on Christmas day.
Hardcore Gin lovers say the word Martini should never be preceded by Vodka, lobster, or pomegranate. They say the original and the only real Martini consists of Gin, Vermouth & olives, period!
Classifications of Gin: London Dry Gin, Plymouth Gin, Old Tom Gin, Genever or Dutch, New Western or new American or International style.
Few Gin distillers make their own alcohol. Gin usually starts with neutral Spirit: A commodity that distillers buy in bulk. It’s what the distiller does with this commodity in the flavor-infusing process that makes each Gin different.
