Hämmerle Apricot is a perfect example of Austrian craftsmanship and tradition.

The Freihof Distillery started as a public house — a rooming house with a pub attached to it — in Austria back in 1885. From there is wasn’t long before they started distilling and flavoring their own spirits. Soon the distilling business crowed out the pub and inn. Since then they have consistently turned out specialty spirits and liqueurs. They pride themselves on avoiding mass market products, choosing to focus on tasty regional and artisanal specialties.

Apricots (Marille) are one of the more traditional fruits used in the production of high-quality Austrian Schnaps. Yes, we recognize that in America “Schnapps” has a rather poor reputation — but that’s really unfair because France, Italy, and eastern Europe all have their regional fruit Brandies that are highly respected. And that is EXACTLY what we have here. In this case, think of Hämmerle Apricot as a young fruit Brandy masterfully distilled. The resulting spirit is viscous with a savory and fruity flavor that explodes on the palate without being overly sweet.

What does Hämmerle Apricot Brandy taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Hämmerle Apricot Brandy and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Susan
Susan,
Awful. Hot and not fruity at all.

KATHLEEN
KATHLEEN,
OK - BUT JUST THAT. OILY NOTE, ODD FLAVOR PROFILE ---2 SIPS AND DOWN THE DRAIN.

Eugene
Eugene,
I have tried an Apricot Brandy before. This one is pleasant and enjoyable. However, I am not a fan of it because it is not as strong, only hint of apricot can be discerned while others additions stand out more. If it is an apricot brandy, then apricot should be the dame of the bottle.

Antti
Antti,
It is an outstanding, fruit brandy with a tart birth, sweet life & a tangy yet clean & dry death!

Corey
Corey,
Bitter and sour; apricot and nutty. Not my favorite but interesting

Charlotte
Charlotte,
Nope

Amy
Amy,
Beautiful apricot profile, a bit sweet for me but not as sweet as liqueur. This was my second favorite.

The
The,
The only thing tolerable in this package. However, when I choose "Schnaps", I would like "schnaps" not fruit brandies. I realize that there is only a subtle difference, but I was really excited to try schnaps since we've already done a brandy box. Overall, this box made me consider quitting Flaviar.

Roger
Roger,
The apricot provided a wonderful bouquet. The taste of apricot was very subtle. Of the batch this was my least favorite but, it wasn't bad at all.

Marc
Marc,
A wonderful essence of apricot in a mellow and warming elixer

Katherine
Katherine,
Velvety mouth feel, but not notable

Deja
Deja,
Smells good. Tastes bad.
