GREAT KING STREET

from Girvan
Great King Street Blended Scotch Whisky was firstly offered in 2012 by Compass Box. Name refers to the location of the Edinburgh office of Compass Box Whisky.

Great King Street is a blend of Girvan's grain Whisky and Highland malt from Clynelish, Teaninich and Dailuaine distilleries. 46% of total spirit is from the American barrels of Girvan, Teaninich's malt is there with 8% matured in Sherry butts. Clynelish matured in standard American barrels makes up to 29% of the liquid and Dailuaine from custom new toasted French oak barrels makes 17% of the liquid. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

Whisky is rich, round and fruity. Toasted oak with spicy vanilla brings out the balance.

Another blend from Great King Street range is the Glasgow Blend. It is made of Cameronbridge grain, Benrinnes, Laphroaig, Clynelish, Miltonduff and unknown malts. Style is full bodied, rich and smoky. Spices and Sherry notes are combined with these to bring out a special blend.
