Paulo,
Not sure I get the point of this. It is very young spirit that did not spend much time in barrel. It has some of the characteristic aromas of a new spirit such as banana peel, a hint of smoke, some saltiness, not very complex. It may appeal for someone that likes young whisky, but when I look for a cognac I want a smooth, refined, complex and well balanced spirit.
Stephanie,
Not my cup of... cognac. Tasted like gasoline . My husband didn’t care for it at all either. Just a weird taste and we couldn’t drink it even mixed with something.
Stephen,
An outstanding bouquet . Reminds me of birthday cake and raisins. It is definitely strong alcoholically, but like an Armagnac I've been drinking (Domaine de Charron that is also about 100 proof) it sips better on the tip of the tongue than on the back. A few drops of water might also lessen the high alcohol and help bring out the flavors.
I have been experimenting with the Sazerac cocktail using the Armagnac, and I think this cognac would be very good as well.
Max,
There's nothing wrong with something overproof and strong, but in a cognac it feels misplaced, the burn overpowers any of the flavor.
Tyler,
Smells good. Punches hard. Taste is okay
Jared,
I pick up the leather, grain, and fire. Feel it overpowers any of the fruity nuances.
David,
Reminded me of a “spicy/flame” popcorn taste 🔥
Sun,
Too much raisin
James,
The most prominent flavor was leather it rank all thru the experience for me it over powered most all other flavors I did however get a mild apple and has a firey end
Angela,
Hits you are at first but still good all around. Good sipping cognac. Has a dark fruit taste.
Ron,

Karl,
First of my samples. Very pleasant - flavors are subtle, not overwhelmed by its over proof
Justin,
this was a very harsh tasting cognac
Chris,
I get a lot of the grape/raisin, a little bit of the figs. I feel like it's better with ice, but definitely drinkable neat.
Chris,
Apologies, this is wrong. Was doing the sampler and the labels were mixed. The stars are correct, the flavors are not. Correct review below.
The smell is fantastic, very sweet and fruity. The actual taste...not quite as good as the smell. I enjoy it with ice or a little bit of dilution. It actually might pair nicely with food, but I'm not sure I'd make an effort to drink it neat and solo.
Angela,
Harsh without ice. But, leathery with an aftertaste of apple and pear with ice
Scott,
Definitely one of the most interesting cognacs I’ve tried! Very raisiny and a little nutty to me. Amazing that it’s 55%... really didn’t taste like it!
David,
I'm new to Cognacs. Of the sampler, this was my favorite. The smell is beautiful and rich. To deep a sniff, and the alcohol will singe your nostrils. On your first sip you're initially hit with the wonderful burn of a high proof spirit. But that subsides quickly. Immediately after that the rich flavors of grapes/raisins and a bit of sweetness fill your pallet. After that, the warmth of the alcohol warms you up and you can't help but dive in for another sip!
Eron,
Smooth, light airy, summery flavor, made me think of sitting under a tree in the summer, eating a pear.
Carl,
Very smooth taste very smooth taste
Victor,
Couldn’t drink it. Way too much raisin flavor.
Jeffery,
It was a strong, sweet, and smooth with subtle hints as well.
Kevin,
Tasty, warms you up. Good for a cold night, or when you have a cold. Think fruit cake.
Justin,
Liquid Raisins that burn the whole way down! Nice aroma though, like a sweet grassy tequila.
Antti,
It is a very good, cask strength Cognac with an aromatic birth, while a dry & full life, that leads to along & warming death.
Muriel,
Smells like candy, but burns and warms going down... reminds me of college cheap liquor shots
Greg,
I'm very new to cognac, just 2 of tasting box under my belt, but this particular one was quite good! As I said, I'm learning, but I found the flavor both pleasing and complex, which coming from Scotch, is exactly what you're looking for! Try it!
Florette,
Very strong but great flavor
Gary,
Hey I don’t understand the bad reviews, this was an interesting and complex cognac. There was a lovely new taste every part of my tongue it touched.
Stephen,
Very unique cognac... while I appreciate the over proofing, not my ideal cognac. Definitely worth a taste.
Chad,
Tastes great but strong
Scott,
This one needs to warm up in your hand a bit before you can completely enjoy it. Initial taste seemed harsh to me but it smoothed right out into a fantastic dram. Fruity & spicy.
Jon,
Cask strength status. Amazing notes. Sweet, fire, fruit- pure awesome. I think it’s young
Brady,
Wow. First, this cognac is an extremely sweet one. It is also spicier than the Paul Beau VSOP (included in Boutique Eau de Vie tasting pack) Aroma: Bananas, dark caramel, raisins, hint of dried apple and fruit. Taste: intense sweetness, intense spiciness, banana and raisin. Lingering notes include more juicy raisin, and you can bet that spice is long lasting. This cognac being overproof most likely intensifies the spice. I can see why this is not for everyone, but this guy loved it!
Amy,
Smoother than I expected, but I’m not one for that strong a sipping drink.
Corey,
Raisins, butterscotch. Not my favorite
James,
Did not like this one
Michael,
In a word - NO - there is no subtly, only harsh - it tastes like alcoholic medicine. I would not waste your money.
