Member Reviews and Ratings of Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve
Lots of Christmas in this bottle - thinks hints of mulled wine with raisins and ginger on the palate. Smoke and sweetness on the finish makes this a great dram for those of you who love a sherry cask finish.
Damn, I didn’t want to like this one because it is difficult to find where I live. Thank God for Flaviar! This is really good!
Nice and delicate, with sherry taste. But not for me - I am a peat lover.
Great nose, opens up nicely with a bit of water. A little bit of spice initially, finish is a little oakey but mellowed by a bit of sweetness.
Good Scotch. Not too peaty. Not too harsh. A nice balance of flavors.
The sherry is very apparent on the nose, lots of citrus and spice on the palate with a mellow sweetness I couldn't pinpoint, but as the Flaviar tasting notes said, chocolate, just a hint. Finish is a bit bitter, though not in an unpleasant way. Nice complex flavor. I prefer this over the Vintage Reserve, though neither are my favorite.
Not as good as I hoped for.
This is a light easy-drinking pretty heavily sherried speyside scotch. It seems a little too sherried and lacking in character for my taste. I think maybe it's trying to be Macallan, but doesn't quite make it - for me.
Sweet and spicy good paired with tropical fruit.
Muted sherry taste that doesn't live up to a perfect, flavorful nose. That said, for the price, you get a pretty good amount of sherry taste!
Good for sipping with a big rock.
I actually liked the Glenrothes. It was very mild to the taste. It had an exceptional aroma. It went down smooth to the palate...
