Aroma that will knock your kilt off.

Located near Tain in the northern Highlands, the Glenmorangie Distillery was founded in 1843 when the Matheson brothers converted the Morangie farm. Their stills are the tallest in Scotland at 26’—ensuring that only the lightest vapors make it to the top and resulting in a smooth, fresh, and elegant range of 23 fine single malt Whiskies.

In northern Scotland, Saint Duthac is a big deal. No fewer than 3 towns, several chapels, a college, and even a Loch (lake) are named after this patron saint of Tain who died in the year 1065. Now that the masters at Glenmorangie have added Duthac to their Legends line, the medieval saint now has one of the best single Malt Whiskies available to add to his list of namesakes.

All Glenmorangie Whiskies are really good. But most spend the bulk of their aging years in ex-Bourbon casks. Glenmorangie Duthac is aged in Pedro Ximenez Sherry and virgin oak casks. It has a buttery texture and a perfume-like aroma that is truly exceptional. Duthac is normally only available to travel retail, so this is a full 1L bottle of Highland excellence.

What does Glenmorangie The Duthac taste like?

The Flavor Spiral™ shows the most common flavors that you'll taste in Glenmorangie The Duthac and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavor Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Scotch Whisky is almost never aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation, while many times ageing process and flavour finishing is concluded in various wine casks, such as sherry or port.

Brian
Brian,
Full and rich taste, with some flavors of dark fruits and chocolate. Great sipping scotch.

Sean
Sean,
Very mild. Not a lot of flavor

Antti
Antti,
It is a classic, rich, Single Malt Scotch Whisky with a rich & aromatic birth; while a fresh & full life leads to a long & rich death with baking spice & dark chocolate notes.

Bries
Bries,
Honey & plum on the nose. Palate: spicy, honey, ginger, a hint of medicinal ortho-cresol phenols. A whiff of floral.

Burt
Burt,
On the nose a sweet fruit note, and then a cereal malt wafts in. A sweet candy is there. The palate finds vanilla and more fruit. No alcohol burn. An easy drinker. Nice for casual and practiced drinkers.

Thomas
Thomas,
Glenmorangie was the first bottle of scotch to grace my bar and as the brand that started my love affair for scotch, I've always had a soft spot for their whiskies. This one did not let me down. Buttery smooth, floral, and fruity with just a slight hint of spice, exquisite. Now where can I find a bottle?

James
James,
Very sweet in front for a scotch. A lot of varying character.

Dan
Dan,
Sweet nose. Honey and spice. Very smooth with a touch of ginger spice in the finish.

Aaron
Aaron,
Less smooth than other glenmorangie scotches I've had, but more spice and dark fruit flavors. Not bad, but not amazing.

Petter
Petter,
Smooth and perfectly okay.

Matthew
Matthew,
Enjoyed it... but it didn’t “knock my socks off”. Pleasant flavors. But lacked a bit of the depth, the spice, and the flavor I prefer.

Kevin
Kevin,
An easy drinking scotch with a nice depth on the finish. The honey adds a nice, mellow taste.

Jerry
Jerry,
This was pleasent suprise. The taste comes in 3waves first honey and bit fruity, then pepper comes lingering and last full sherry goodnes. It's sweet but good.

Mathew
Mathew,
Buttery and sweet with a huge spicy bite throughout. It has an odd thick sort of greasy mouth feel. I don’t hate it but I’m not in love either.

Scott
Scott,
I'm sorry to say this didn't light my world on fire. Tastes almost like a thin (i.e. simple) cognac.

Katherine
Katherine,
Boring
