Glenmorangie launched the Bond House No. 1 Collection, an exclusive collection of the distillery's most prized Single Malt Whiskies specifically chosen for aging in unique barrels, back in 2016. Since then, they've released 6 prestigious and highly-acclaimed vintages.

The Grand Vintage Malt 1997 is the 7th in the series and it's dramatically different than its predecessors. This vintage is the first to be aged in rare Bourdeaux Wine casks from the prestigious Château Montrose estate in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux. Aged for 23 years, it showcases a diversity of lively and floral flavors that can only be achieved with experimentation.

An inspired choice, and a delicious one at that.

The Glenmorangie Distillery used to be a brewery.
Beer and malt Whisky seem to have quite a bit in common. Both drinks begin with malted barley, which deliver the enzymes and sugars needed for fermentation when steeped in hot water. The two go their separate ways at the wash stage, where they're fermented or aged to become the adult beverages you know and love.
Single malt stands for around 10% of the Scotch market. This is a malt containing only one grain, legally required to be barley in Scotland, and made at a single distillery.

A blended Scotch is a combination of different malts from different distilleries. It is typically made from grain Whisky but does include malt Whisky to give it a more complex body.
Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
