Another Glenmorangie giraffe-like reach with delicious aftermath. Sure the aging on this expression is extraordinary with Truffle Oak from the Black Forest in Germany, but it’s all about the base (spirit).

The juice inside the extravagant casks was distilled in 90’ and released as the 12-years-old Truffle Oak Finish. Few barrels were set aside to take an additional 14-year long nap for the release at dram.
Getting our hands on this supreme Single Malt one was no easy task. The 2019 release yielded a total of 1000 bottles at 55.7% ABV. Anything for our Flaviaristas, so make sure you try it.

Character Dogson
The Glenmorangie Distillery used to be a brewery.
Beer and malt Whisky seem to have quite a bit in common. Both drinks begin with malted barley, which deliver the enzymes and sugars needed for fermentation when steeped in hot water. The two go their separate ways at the wash stage, where they're fermented or aged to become the adult beverages you know and love.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
Scotland is home to more than 20 million casks of maturing Whisky. That’s four for every person living there. Nuts!
Categories of Scotch Whisky: Single malt, Blended malt (formerly called Vatted malt), blended, single grain and blended grain Scotch.
