A bright, iconic Single Malt with shining notes of fruit and florals.

Located near Tain on the east coast of the northern Highlands, the Glenmorangie Distillery was founded in 1843 when the Matheson brothers converted the Morangie farm into a distillery by the sea. At a full twenty-six feet in height, the stills are the tallest in Scotland — ensuring that only the lightest vapors make it to the top and resulting in a smooth, fresh, and elegant range of fine Single Malt Whiskies. Now owned by LVMH, Glenmorangie is THE best selling Single Malt Whisky in Scotland and the rest of the UK, and one of our personal favorites.

The primary Glenmorangie Spirit is called “The Original” for a reason. For decades it was the only Single Malt they produced. They have a few side releases, experimentations, and special editions, but all of their current core offerings are built upon this foundation — and a solid foundation it is. Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year Old is a classic Highland Single Malt, distilled on those famous tall stills and aged in first-fill and second-fill ex-Bourbon casks for ten years. The wood quality and supply being so important, for more than a generation they have control the making of casks in the US.

Smartass corner:
A lot of distilleries “talk” a good game about special water. But Glenmorangie is the real deal. Every drop used to make their Spirit comes from a nearby limestone aquifer — the famous Tarlogie Spring.

Alan
Alan,
This is a very smooth whiskey, with a clean aftertaste. To me, it is a great whiskey that can be had at any occasion.

guest
guest,
Mostly orange/citrus and vanilla on the nose. Pretty much the same on the palate, orange and vanilla cream. Very pleasant and light, but not too complex.

Ryan
Ryan,
One of my go-to inexpensive bottles. Very smooth and tasty, high value for the price.

Simon
Simon,
Perfectly fine and great value. Nice everyday tipple but can't praise it much more than that...

Ok. is rather mild

Andy
Andy,
you can't beat this product for the price. I paid $30 and it was well worth it. Very sweet and smooth. I tasted nutmeg and banana bread!

Not too peaty, but with fruit notes I enjoy.

Scotch is not my thing. I just keep it for guests.

Anthony
Anthony,
Solid Scotch. Great starter for new Scotch drinkers. I personally prefer the other products in the Glenmorangie line. The bottle I have is 43%.

Gary
Gary,
Great! Light, smooth, and very easy drinking.

Antti
Antti,
It is an outstanding, delicate, Single Malt Whisky with a thick & rich birth; while a fresh & balanced life leads to a long & fruity death with notes of malt.

Richard
Richard,
Smell strong vanilla some honey and slight spice. Smooth mouth feel, tastes prominently of citrus and slightly of vanilla, has a spicy after taste. Pretty drinkable, an acidic finish that is not preferable. I wouldn't mind drinking this but probably wouldn't purchase a bottle.

Derek
Derek,
Excellent and simple single malt. No peat or smoke, but none needed. Nice linger.

Michael
Michael,
I liked it. Really good. Easy up front and then it kicks in

guest,
Almost too mild for me. Good citrus notes.

Justin
Justin,
Not my cup of tea. The 12 year lasanta (sherry cask) is way better.

Doug
Doug,
Fabulous whisky. Great mouthfeel with the soft creaminess. It's remarkable that this is only a 10-year old and so cheap. An absolutely perfect "every day" Scotch.

first good bottle of scotch, really helped open up my palate. Very sweet smelling nose, I tasted the caramel notes and some toffee, which were delicious. the burn was very subtle, only during the finish. Excellent when paired with a mild Cigar
