Member Reviews and Ratings of The Glenlivet 18 Year Old
One of my favorites so far. Much smoother and less harsh than the 12 year. Love the nose on this one, too-it's a pleasure to smell and sip.
A really good scotch, definitely prefer it neat.
Favorite, sweet, honey
Very smooth and sweet, the oak is definitely evident from all that time in the barrel. Virtually no burn and drawn out finish.
Oh man smooth. Delicious. Oak, spice, sherry, and smooth.
Very smooth and classy
Got this as a gift. And what a gift it is. Very complex. Might be too complex for my beginner pallet. Will go back once in a while and dive in again. —UPDATE: I originally gave this a 7 star rating, in the time since I’m learned more and now this is a 9 star to me. This is an amazing scotch with a syrupy note and texture, and “legs” that just take their time running down the glass. [I am a leg man after all ;) ]
I do love my speyside whiskys 🤤
Visuals 🧐 ; Beautiful gold coloured gold, with small and light legs,
Nose 👃 ; Oak, sweet fruits, especially apples, light florals, overall surprisingly light on the nose,
Taste 👅 ; Apples, brown sugar, honey, chocolate, slight spicey oak,
Finish 🇫🇮 ; Long, pleasant with oak and toffee,
Hard to complain about a whisky-distillery that's been around since 1824 👌
9 / 10 🥃
A hint of caramel and vanilla, very present oak and very smooth smoke. Went well with a mild cigar.
Notes of caramel and vanilla, rounded with notes of dried fruit and hints of oak, very smooth in the palate with gentle finish
Very very good scotch. The caramel and hints of dark chocolate make this a very easy drinking scotch. A personal favorite of mine.
Very smooth on the palate. Lots of oily nut flavors; hazelnut, cashew. Sweet. Dry fruit.
Loved it. The first single malt I tasted, it became the standard for scotch while I was developing my pallet
It is like a wonderful candy! Just plain delicious!
Good scotch but this site is way over priced. You can get this bottle from total wine and more for $79.99!
smooth, a great every day scotch.
A joyful cup but doesn't match up with the Lagavulin 16.
Incredibly smooth., one of the best for the cost of a Benjamin.
A standard go to for everyday scotch
Like it , subtle hint of oak smooth finish
To date this is one of my favorite scotches. Incredibly smooth.
A very balanced scotch. Think its the best from Glenlivet. That declares why the price is more higher than 10 years ago.
Full smooth flavor
Way to expensive for me, but
Glenlivet is a great Scotch...
Excellent Scotch. Nothing too heavy. Well balanced. Not too sweet or smoky or harsh.
Sweet like fruitcake. Allspice an dried fruit. On ice or neat, both are good.
Smooth, mellow, very solid scotch. Enjoyed immensely!
Wasn't something I'd buy again wasn't impressed
Good stuff. Much cheaper in price at my local liquor store than purchasing from Flaviar.
It's been too long since I had it - but remember not liking it as much as the 15 year
My favorite ultra smooth scotch. Limited smoke and wood flavor.
Could be slightly smoother up front, but otherwise a near perfect Scotch.
It's a little strong for my personal taste; however, those who drink scotch do love this one. We keep it on hand for guests.
Bought this for myself as a gift to me and was very pleased real good flavor a little spendy but definitely worth it
An exquisite single malt. Smooth and flavorful.
My favorite scotch to drink on ice. Nothing more, nothing less. Simple. Comforting.
First decent scotch. It is the bar that i judge the rest...
Love it. Very smooth and easy to drink.
very smooth and gentle, truly a taste experience unlike any other
This is the bottle I celebrated my wedding with.
My favorite whiskey of all time. The 18 is superior to any other whiskey that may be older or more expensive. The spices, fruits and smokiness combined do wonders for my palette and soul. If I was stranded on an island and all I had to survive on was this whiskey, I would willingly die of starvation. I would go down happy and laughing!
Good highland mix.
Smooth without any bitterness
Of the whiskeys that might be described as a desert, this is my favorite.
One of the best Ive tasted thus far. Full of flavor very smooth to the pallet.
Just excellent. Smooth. Honey. Pricey but one of the best.
Rich full taste, slightly fruity and fresh. Very nice "ending-taste".
Rich. Honey and apple with a touch of chocolate. Better than I expected. Not normally a glenlivet fan
My all time favorite whisky
Expensive for a 18 year old but tastes fantastic!!! A dram to be savoured. I am sure if this was cask strength the taste would have been a couple of notches up...
Enjoyed this a lot more the 15 year but still disappointed for the price.
One of my favorites for hanging with the guys
Love it! Great dram, complex and a great price. It's like an Angel peeing on your tongue.
One of my favourite. It's oaky and just appropriate from many different angle. Highly suggest to stock one in your collection
The blending of the flavor is amazing
It was sweet and soft to the taste and when I added a drop of water or two the taste was stronger. I got a taste of liquorice.
Think 12-year old Glenlivet completely matured - an unforgettable, must-return time and again, perfectly nuanced Speyside single malt scotch. It's complex flavor spirals of dried berries, subtle peat, floral herbs, smokey spice and more, leisurely unfold in the palette and follow with an equally engaging and exquisitely satisfying finish. And the nose of amaretto with herbal hints throughout the entire tasting journey leave nothing left, but total satisfaction.
Even better than Glenlivet 12. Super smooth with a long finish.
I like it
Simply one of the best in Speyside.
Very very smooth, with a lot of flavor on the backend. This will be an addition to my bar.
Light sweetness, pine, slight honey.
Dry with a hint of fresh tobacco.
The Speyside Royalty
Overrated whisky, despite the 18 years tag line. Was not smooth enough in finish and lacked the flavors to create a memorable drinking experience.
