First-class first fill 12YO from Glenlivet.

Back in the 1820s, making Spirits was illegal as hell in Scotland, so George Smith moved to the remote and isolated Livet valley to start his hush-hush business. The dram was so (in)famously delicious, even King George IV wanted to try it when he visited Scotland. Shortly, distilling became legal and Mr. Smith became the first honest distiller in the parish of Glenlivet. Even Charles Dickens, sipping on the "rare old Glenlivet" in the smoky town of London, realized the Scotch goes beyond his great expectations. The rest is history. But hey, history is still being made. The Glenlivet launched a chic and exclusive first fill expression of its 12YO.

Now, the standard 12YO is quite extraordinary, but this special edition is extravagant. It is the first ever limited edition release of the Glenlivet First Fill in the US. A unique 12YO is matured solely in first fill American oak casks. The golden potion brings the perfect balance of late summer flowers and ripe fruit aromas of autumn. The Glenlivet is already Numero Uno in the U.S., but this rare and limited Single Malt will fortify its position as the fella that knows a thing or two about Scotch and innovation. Now, we will say no more... You? Treat yourself... Don't wait, you deserve this. Make your evening a classy evening. A Glenlivet kind of evening!

90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
Whisky distilling goes way back to 1494 when the first recorded batch was made by a posse of monks who acquired about 60 gallons of barley and decided to turn it into "aqua vitae". They created the first 1,500 bottles of Scotch in History.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
First-class Whiskies are taxed not only by the state but also by the angels. This refers to the 4% of Whisky that evaporates from the barrels every year, a phenomenon known as the angel’s share.
Single malt stands for around 10% of the Scotch market. This is a malt containing only one grain, legally required to be barley in Scotland, and made at a single distillery.

A blended Scotch is a combination of different malts from different distilleries. It is typically made from grain Whisky but does include malt Whisky to give it a more complex body.
