First-class first fill 12YO from Glenlivet.

Back in the 1820s, making Spirits was illegal as hell in Scotland, so George Smith moved to the remote and isolated Livet valley to start his hush-hush business. The dram was so (in)famously delicious, even King George IV wanted to try it when he visited Scotland. Shortly, distilling became legal and Mr. Smith became the first honest distiller in the parish of Glenlivet. Even Charles Dickens, sipping on the "rare old Glenlivet" in the smoky town of London, realized the Scotch goes beyond his great expectations. The rest is history. But hey, history is still being made. The Glenlivet launched a chic and exclusive first fill expression of its 12YO.

Now, the standard 12YO is quite extraordinary, but this special edition is extravagant. It is the first ever limited edition release of the Glenlivet First Fill in the US. A unique 12YO is matured solely in first fill American oak casks. The golden potion brings the perfect balance of late summer flowers and ripe fruit aromas of autumn. The Glenlivet is already Numero Uno in the U.S., but this rare and limited Single Malt will fortify its position as the fella that knows a thing or two about Scotch and innovation. Now, we will say no more... You? Treat yourself... Don't wait, you deserve this. Make your evening a classy evening. A Glenlivet kind of evening!

Scotch Whisky is almost never aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation, while many times ageing process and flavor finishing is concluded in various wine casks, such as sherry or port.

Ratings & Reviews
Essentially an American whiskey with wonderful Highland scotch honey notes. Not bad, but be ready for the bite.
Very good, fruity and sweet on the front with slight spice to the finish.
Very good, sort of sweet to the nose, a little spicy and smoky to the taste. Have only tried straight but will add an ice cube to see what happens!
Very enjoyable,... a little honey and vanilla on the nose then on to apple, pears, with some nuts & oak... finishing with floral notes... just a lot to enjoy here. 🧐
Good on its own but opens with a few drops of water to reduce the spice. Just overall a tremendously enjoyable scotch and another great Glenlivet.
It is a little harsh on the palate, but it is good with a very spicy or intense dish.
This is excellent, vanilla and spicy!!
Great balanced flavor with good hints of vainilla and fruits
I liked it very much. Had just the right smoothness to it.
I LOVE this single malt! I’m new to the whiskey world and tasted this in a class I took at a local Total Wine store. I bought it on the spot. You have to try this two ways. . . . first, straight for your first few sips. Then, add a couple of ice cubes. Oh my, what a difference. And both fantastic! I was hooked.
Sweet and tasty, just wish it had a little more body.
