They've done it again! The second in Gordon and MacPhail's Generations range, that's right, the second ever 70 year old whisky! It looks unbelievable when written down, but this genuinely is a 70 year old Glenlivet, distilled on the 3rd February 1940, and aged in a first fill sherry butt. This is quite literally one of the most extraordinary creations we have ever witnessed. Just 100 bottles of this have been released, each is presented in a stunning decanter.

In Holland, The Glenlivet has adopted the slogan 'Discover the single malt that started it all'.
Whisky distilling goes way back to 1494 when the first recorded batch was made by a posse of monks who acquired about 60 gallons of barley and decided to turn it into "aqua vitae". They created the first 1,500 bottles of Scotch in History.
Scotland is home to more than 20 million casks of maturing Whisky. That’s four for every person living there. Nuts!
Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
Categories of Scotch Whisky: Single malt, Blended malt (formerly called Vatted malt), blended, single grain and blended grain Scotch.
Is Scotch always Scottish? What do you think? Yes. The answer is yes.
