Character Goatson

It’s difficult to describe just how fancy this Scotch is without inventing new words, but we’ll try: it came from one hogshead that once matured Pedro Ximenez Sherry down in Andalucia—the Whisky spent half a century in there, slowly evolving into a sublime masterpiece. Imagine Hugh Grant, but it’s Scotch. The Aberdeenshire Spirit managed to keep its seaside funk but also gained lush fruity notes (with hints of tobacco, cocoa, and truffle) under the Spanish influence. This 50-year-old Highlander was bottled at 40.1% ABV from Cask #128, and a birdie (that happens to know its liquor) told us it’s astonishingly good and a precious collectible.

The Glenglassaugh Distillery has kept silence for more than half of its lifetime.
Although Glennglassaugh generally releases unpeated Whiskies, in 2009 they started experimenting with mildly peated ones.
