Glenfiddich Select Cask is a classic Glenfiddich Whisky orchestrated in a perpetual dance of the barrels … yielding a light, floral, and smooth expression of this classic single-malt powerhouse.

Founded in 1887, with machinery bought from the Cardhu Distillery, William Grant created Glenfiddich. Still in the hands of the Grant family, Glenfiddich is the biggest selling malt Whisky worldwide and remains Scottish owned and independent. William Grant pioneered their Whiskies as 'single malts' at a time when malts were produced to supply the blended Whisky producers. It's a vision that has paid off, thanks for creating the category Mr. Grant!

Glenfiddich is taking a different turn on the Solera method here. Remember that the Solera method is where the barrel or vat is only half emptied with each pass, then it is refilled. This way each new batch is half of the batch that preceded it, and so on, and so on … theoretically forever. Which is why the Italians call the process “perpetua.” For Glenfiddich Select Cask, they are using the marrying vat as a point of blending their single-malt aged in three different wood types: virgin European oak, French burgundy wine casks, and ex-Bourbon barrels.
What comes out of the bottle is now a very complex, very consistent, mixed wood and mixed age Whisky. It is soft, smooth, and has a superior mouth-feel that will really stand out. But the aroma with seduce you on this one … something like fresh flowers after the rain. Don’t mix it. Pour it neat, maybe a splash, linger at the nose, then savor.

What does Glenfiddich Select Cask taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Glenfiddich Select Cask and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Ratings & Reviews
This is my go too. Very smooth and good taste with a good price.
Smooth and different. Best way to put this is that 'Fiddich wanted to craft a malt that had a specific taste that reflects the essential Glenfiddich flavor of fruits like apples and pears, while trying to be almost "refreshing" for lack of a better term.
