Wise beyond its age.
This is one of the few remaining independent and family-owned distilleries in Scotland. It was started in 1836 by Robert Hay, and bought by John Grant a few decades later. Nowadays it's run by the 6th generation of the Grant family, making it truly independent, which is kind-of refreshing these days. Glenfarclas distillery owns six stills, which are the largest in all of Highland, and produce a typical Speyside-style Whisky, which is heavily Sherry influenced. They mature their malts in traditional dunnage warehouses, where they have stock back to 1952.

Wise beyond its years, this Whisky is complex, has depth and typifies a smooth Sherry-matured malt. Reminiscent of Christmas with stewed fruits and an enduring smokiness that gives an overall warming and thoroughly enjoyable dry Whisky. There is something unique here that is not often present in Sherry matured Whisky of this vintage.

What does Glenfarclas 10 taste like?

The Flavour Spiral™ shows the most common flavours that you'll taste in Glenfarclas 10 and gives you a chance to have a taste of it before actually tasting it.

We invented Flavour Spiral™ here at Flaviar to get all your senses involved in tasting drinks and, frankly, because we think that classic tasting notes are boring.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made in Scotland using a pot still distillation process at a single distillery, with malted barley as the only grain ingredient. It must be matured in oak casks in Scotland for at least three years (most single malts are matured longer).

Piotr,
Beautiful smell a little grappa smell. Light taste. Malty and spicy finish. Great for its age, best 10-year-old...

Mild and a bit earthy. I didn't get any sweetness at all. Probably would order again
