Hardcore work dedication resulting in a worthy core range addition. Purchased, sold, mothballed, and opened again four times — it's been a pretty rocky ride for the 1967-opened The GlenAllachie Distillery.

But it was always meant to be: in 2017 Master Distiller Billy Walker and partners merged this under-utilized distiller gem with a few other Whisky brands to form The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited. With a new wind in their sails, Walker and Co. dished out a new core range of four Single Malt Whiskies in the Speyside style.

A 2019 addition to the GlenAllachie core range, this 15 Year Old Single Malt has been worked on and perfected by the Master Distiller Billy Walker since day one. That's what we call dedication!

The Whisky was treated to a finishing period in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry puncheons and hogsheads. To retain this rich, full flavor, it was bottled at Cask Strength of 46% ABV (90 Proof).

Praised as the jewel in their crown, Walker described this expression as having an "exceptional balance of the distillery’s spirit and the influence of the Sherry casks used during maturation." We couldn't agree more.

You want to hear about the awards, don't you? Gold at the 2020 International Spirits Challenge, Double Gold at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 90 points at the 2021 Ultimate Spirits Challenge...

Scotch Whisky is seldom aged in new barrels. Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey casks are usually used for maturation. In addition to that, Whisky is often matured or finished in various wine casks such as Sherry or Port.
90% of all Scotch Whisky released in the market is a blend. That’s a hell of a lot.
90% of all Scotch Whiskies sold are Blends.
Most of the Whisky Glenallachie produces goes into blends.
Whisky distilling goes way back to 1494 when the first recorded batch was made by a posse of monks who acquired about 60 gallons of barley and decided to turn it into "aqua vitae". They created the first 1,500 bottles of Scotch in History.
Can Scotch go bad? Technically, an unopened bottle of Scotch can last forever. Air is the only true evil to Whisky; once the liquid is oxidized it is no longer immortal. After opening, as long as you store your Whisky in a cool, dry place, it will last another 5 years.
