A limited edition Single Malt aged in four woods and packed with complex flavor.
The GlenAllachie Distillery sits on the Aberlour stream near where it empties into the River Spey. It was built there — less than a mile from the more famous Aberlour Distillery at the base of Ben Rinnes — in 1967 to produce Spirit for Scotch blends. It has been purchased, sold, mothballed, and opened again no fewer than four times since then. But in 2017, Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson, and Trishia Savage merged a few Whiskey brands and this under-utilized distiller gem to form The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited — now with a new core range of four Single Malt Whiskies in the Speyside style.
GlenAllachie has been back in business for just a few years. But in that time they have started a new tradition that will knock you socks off — IF you love Single Malt. They have a limited edition ten-year-old expression of their signature Whisky bottled at full cask strength — 54.89% ABV. And it’s packed full of flavor, using Pedro Ximénez casks, Oloroso casks, ex-Bourbon barrels, and virgin oak. And while 3000 cases sounds like a lot, when you consider that this stuff is shipped all over the world it’s a delicious drop in the Whisky bucket.
