Strathleven’s Gilt Gin, a cocktail glass and a velvet glove that go hand in hand.
With the demand for Scotch as high as it is, you might think there’s no malt spirit left for anything else. But the good folks at Strathleven Distillers think that malted barley is the best base for lots of things, and their Gin proves that.
Located near the famous Loch Lomond at Strathleven, they take malted barley spirit through a unique distillation process. They use a tall copper still and distill the spirit five times, refining its purity. The column of the still is chilled to minus 15 degrees C. This condenses the spirit and essential oils quickly, sealing in the flavours and creating a unique, viscous texture. They use this magic malt juice to create their signature Valt Vodka and Gilt Gin.
Strathleven’s Gilt Gin has the juniper-forward flavor profile and the botanicals usually found in London Dry Gins, but what sets this easy sipper apart—aside from its Scottish pedigree—is a supple, luxurious mouth feel. The combination of malted barley spirit and chill-distillation do the trick. This one fits pleasingly into a cocktail glass and deserves to be sipped with a velvet glove. The best merger of English refinement and Scottish ruggedness.

Hardcore Gin lovers say the word Martini should never be preceded by Vodka, lobster, or pomegranate. They say the original and the only real Martini consists of Gin, Vermouth & olives, period!
