The right way to craft a proper honeyed Bourbon.

We love all the hard-toiling, passionate craft distillers of the world. But the Garrison Brothers stand out in that crowd. You see, they don’t farm out anything. Every step from cooking the mash to bottling happens right there on site at their distillery in Hye, Texas. They make Bourbon in a range of ages and finishes, but it all started with the famous "barrel #6" that yielded their signature Texas Bourbon Whiskey.

You see, it was back in 2007 and 2008 that the Garrison brothers were experimenting to find the perfect recipe for their Bourbon. In 2008, they popped open barrel #6, took a sip, and instantly knew that they had found Texas Nirvana. The HoneyDew Texas Honey-Infused Bourbon takes that modern classic to another level of honeyed sweetness. They had their Master Distiller Donnis Todd transform used Bourbon barrels into cubes and covered them in Burleson's Texas Wildflower Honey. The cubes were then placed into a stainless steel tank along with the Bourbon for 7 whole months. Now that's a proper way to make a deliciously floral and delicate summer sipper.

Appearance / Color
Rich Mahogany

Nose / Aroma / Smell
It starts sweet with honey, elderberry syrup, fruit, and oak aromas on the nose with a dash of spice.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Yeah, there's the honey sweetness, but it never overpowers the Bourbon with cinnamon, butterscotch, corn, oak, and a touch of white chocolate.

Finish
A brief touch of heat is followed by a lingering honey note on the finish.

"Remember that iconic poster from World War II showing Rosie the Riveter as a patriotic American woman doing her part for the war effort? Well, hundreds of businesses did their part too, and the Bourbon distillers stepped right up with ‘em.

Distilleries all over Kentucky and Tennessee were re-tooled to distill fuel alcohol and ferment penicillin cultures to treat wounded soldiers."
Bourbon was declared "The Official Spirit of America" by an Act of Congress signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
Whisky or Whiskey? The spelling differs geographically. In Scotland, Japan, and some other parts of the world, distilleries usually spell it Whisky; in Ireland and the USA, they spell it Whiskey.
Straight Bourbon must be matured for at least 2 years. If a bottle has no age statement, it’s at least 4 years old.
Bourbon only needs to be placed in a new oak container for a few seconds to be called Bourbon. Fresh from the still and unaged Bourbon is called a White Dog. Recently, many of the larger distillers have started packaging this harsh, clear grain spirit for sale.
They were originally called Lone Star Distillery, but Busch Brewing — owners of “Lone Star Beer” didn’t take kindly to the name, suggesting rather strongly that Dan should find a new name.
