— Wonderful. Leather, tobacco, caramel, oak. Taste transforms into a. Bitter, hot spiciness that lingers for a long while. Simply divine.

— The best thing to pair with a cigar. It is delicious neat, but paired with a robust smoke they elevate each other to a superlative taste and aroma experience. Recommended with a Padron 1964 Maduro.

Gregory
Gregory,
First and foremost, in regard to other rums this is as unique as it gets. It is less sweet than most of the other Rums I normally drink. My first impression leaves me wondering what the heck is this. Not a familiar experience compared to other rums. My brain immediately tells me to enjoy the experience not relative to Rum but for its on merits. For such a high proof drink it is very smooth and drinkable. Impressed. But in contrast to the 'smoothness' it is also an explosion of taste and sensations. I will not try to pin down the flavors but rather the sensation. When I take a sip and swish in the mouth it produces a buttery sensation. not taste. Then I notice it strips my mouth with a very dry sensation. Probably the high alcohol content. But when I follow through with the swallow it explodes into a burst of flavors that are almost a hallucination of flavors. Add to that a long finish. One of length that is rarely found. A long finish is one of my most sought after effects. Usually found in a fine Cognac or Brandy. Yet this Rum reaches into that realm of existence. OK on the otherhand is it worth the price? Certainly not of an every day go to. But for special occasions or to gives a new experience to those who know good booze this could be an opportunity to give them something they never experienced. An what lover of good booze does not welcome a new experience.
