Top reviews for Four Roses Small Batch Select:

— One of the best bourbons I’ve had recently. The nose is clear-cut traditional bourbon bites of vanilla, caramel, and cherries. The palate is pleasantly filled with oak, spice, brown sugar and sweet floral notes to a nice long cinnamon finish. Do yourself a favor a buy a bottle, or two!

— Great taste, I'm hooked.

— This is going to be hard to beat for a smooth sipping drink. Introduced my wife to Small batch bourbons and whiskies only to find out she “doesn’t like the hard stuff” and she hasn’t had the need to try others after Four Roses Small Batch hit her lips. This is now out “go to” and she’s always asking me keep it stocked. I would say that for the more distinguished connoisseur this is a premium dram. Can’t wait to visit the distillery this November!

Brian
Brian,
Once you taste this, it might quickly become your favorite Four Roses. Capturing the spices and nuance of single barrel, but blended with the smooth small batch, this bourbon hits all the good things that Rutledge built and now Elliot is moving into the future with.

David
David,
From the amazing color to the honey or cream flavor that hits your tongue. Followed by a balanced spice/smoke. All around a nice sipping flavor straight from the bottle .

Carlos
Carlos,
Truly amazing taste! Robust and tasteful!

Adam
Adam,
Very tasty

Daniel
Daniel,
Too much spice / cinnamon for me to really enjoy. It’s tasty, but overwhelming on the cinnamon. I’d rather have a bottle of Bookers for that price.

guest,
So much cinnamon but a little one dimensional

guest,
Great accessible bourbon that it good cold, neat, or mixed.

Amelia
Amelia,
The farther I made it down the bottle the more prominent the oak qualities became with the finish but upfront there is a pleasant vanilla and spice that leads into the oak finish. Highly recommend.

guest,
Smooth yet complex notes of honey, tobacco, and vanilla.

darien
darien,
I have yet to find a better tasting whiskey I can drink straight.

Thomas
Thomas,
Very spicy upfront and fades into fruit. By the second glass it was a nice drink. The oak is a nice touch compared to the fruity, short finish of the small batch. It’s not $30 better than the regular small batch. Fine at the right price but I wouldn’t keep it on my bar.

Burton
Burton,
I wish I had a single barrel version on hand to compare with this. I dont. So this will have to stand on its own. Fruit. Floral. Sweet. Not much noticeable barrel influence. Nice product. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Michael,
Very smooth with just the right balance of spice and oaky sweetness flavors. Complex aroma that has a hint of fruity essence. Enjoy both neat and a hint of water.

guest,
First whiskey, goes down with a small burn but has the greatest flavor and finish.

Michael
Michael,
I keep going back to this, smooth with some pepper but not too much. It's mainstream bourbon, but just a little (little) "different" almost in an earthy way. Words fail me. I don't salivate for it while headed to the cabinet like some others, but I'll pick it almost every time anyway. I guess I'm trying to say that it's not a nectar of the whiskey muses but, well, yeah it is in its own way. I know... completely unusable review but that's my story (and I'm stickin' to it).

John
John,
I’m a Four Roses everything fan but this one wasn’t for me. A bit sterile and astringent tasting. Disappointed to say the least.

Justin
Justin,
This is a very smooth whiskey with a lot of flavor. Currently my #2

I loved it. Very smooth from the first sip with a nice bold finish. Will be purchasing again!

Michael
Michael,
Great addition to the Four Roses line up. Definitely like the higher proof with it being non-chill filtered. I put this one up there with the Single Barrel. Thank you Flaviar with offering this product as it is not yet available in my State.

Sam
Sam,
Very good bourbon...even better when you add a touch of water

Bret
Bret,
Good sweet, vanilla caramel start with a nice long oaky, cinnamon finish. Hints of spice in between. One of the better 4 roses I have tasted.

Jeff
Jeff,
Favorite everyday bourbon.

Connor
Connor,
I dont usually like four roses but this was great. Totally worth the money and i dont say that 0ften.

Nick
Nick,
Much better than anticipated. Good balance of fruitiness and spice. Good mouthfeel and a finish that last longer than plenty of more expensive bottles... this is right up there with some of my favorite SiB offerings from 4R

Richard
Richard,
Instantly jumps to the top of my favorite bourbons. Baking spices on the nose, tiny hint of oak in the back. Flavor coats the tongue: cinnamon, tangy fruit and wood. Pleasantly lingers a while.
